Ganapati Foods — Restaurant in Rockville

I ordered food via mobile today morning. I went in the evening to Ganapati to get my food. But it was not prepared by Ganapati. I called Ganapati for my food at 1:00 pm via phone and was given assurance that my food would be ready by 6:00 pm. The guy told me that because they were busy with other orders, they couldn’t prepare my food and didn’t bother to give me any explanation and went inside the kitchen. I was standing over the counter for 30 minutes nobody came outside. I guess they were busy with more oversized orders. Since the Ganapati is among the few who prepare Indian vegan food, they have started to take advantage of the monopoly. It seems that the Togo order for me was not their priority. I understand business favors big-sized customers, but without reliability, it is not trustworthy. I used to go to Ganapati earlier, and the service was pretty good. Now over time, it has deteriorated. Even fried foods taste like old foods stored, microwaved, and served. I do not recommend them and would not trust them with any...

First time ordering here. Went for the takeout option. They do not accept any credit/debit payment. Would be nice if that was written on their website or if the owner mentioned it when I was ordering the food. That irritation and inconvenience aside, the food was tasty and the price made it a bargain.

We ordered dosa, malai kofta and dahi vadas. Suggest not ordering dosa for takeout because by the time you get home those get soggy. The malai koftas and dahi vadas were yummy.

Ganapati foods took me back to India. It was like having chai and samosa on a rainy day at home with very friendly people around. The owners were extremely nice! We ordered chai and samosa and both were delicious! They added tulsi into it!! We were so impressed with that!! We also got Gobhi Parantha and Chole Bhature for take out and the quantity was pretty descent. Both were amazing! They prepared everything fresh after you place the order which means that it takes a little more time but the food is worth the wait!
