After work on Friday Feb 12th, I decided to stop by and order take out. As I walked in I grabbed a menu I was not acknowledged but rather stared at. I saw that the hostess was getting orders ready so I assumed this could be the reason why. However as she caught up on orders and there was nothing left for her to prepare I was left wondering why she never came over even after she had time. This was approx 8 mins in. There was a bell sitting on a table near the entrance I would assume that meant when you are ready to order ring it. I rang it and the hostess looked at me and did not bother to come over. I waited for approx 10 mins on top of the 8, then she finally comes over to ask if I was ready and to write down my order on a take out menu. She takes off again leaving me waiting for another 5 mins. I had to get her attention and she takes my paper and walks off again for additional 6 mins. Two other individuals walk in and she immediately walks over to them to assist them with order but I was literally left waiting all of this time. I just left. The customer service was piss poor. She could have informed me if they were busy or if she will get with me when she could. She didn't even bother to do it. I have never experienced this level of customer service at this establishment so I won't go as far to say it's the restaurant as a whole because I have received excellent service before. The problem is actually just her and...

If you like the fancy restaurants with the white table clothes and the high prices. Then your missing out on some of the best sushi Rockville has to offer, Give sushi house a try you will not be disappointed. Great food and you must try the spicy tuna the best I've ever eaten. Been coming here for over 17 years. Edited: Today marks almost 22 years coming here with my son since he was around 5 years old and this is our favorite Sushi and Sashimi spot in Maryland. The quality of the fish supreme and same for the sushi. They also offer other non sushi dishes for the non sushi eaters and the prices you get for the high quality food can't be beat. The old decor and mom and pop shop feeling is what you get he. Your not paying for high end silverware and plates, it's just a casual place to grab a quick bite to eat of some of the most authentic Japanese sushi style that you don't find in most high end sushi restaurants that uses fillers with there spicy tuna rolls and spicy mayo. We're losing so many good little mom and pop shops to these corporate chains who only offer subpar foods that lack great flavor. It will be very sad to see another great establishment close it's doors if we don't support these people. There not investing in another jet airplane or some other vacation home in the Caribbeans, they spend there money locally in the community and ensure that there customers walk away with a happy belly full of some...

I ate at the restaurant and order udon, but instead of a regular dish bowl, they gave me a paper bowl and plastic spoon and had me pour my udon in portions myself.

I ordered Tamago and the lady taking the order kept repeating with an annoyed emphasis the work "tamago" with what I guess was meant to demonstrate proper pronunciation and just stared at me when I tried to repeat the word to learn from her.

They were nice as I was taking my food to go. However, I had to call back later after gettinf sick from eating the shrimp tempura that weren't cleaned properly and still have the black vein in each shrimp. I got attitude and told not to come back because it was the first time anyone complained about this and she refused to check with the chef and kept defending that they DID clean the shrimp. When I responded that I have the shrimp still and am looking at the veins, she just repeatedly told me "thank you but don't come back" and that she would refund me only because she doesn't want to see me again. But I was so nice and patient both in person and on the phone yet she kept interrupting me and insulted me.

Never ever going back here again and do...

The Sushi Gods answered my prayers! I was looking for a high-quality sushi spot for take out given my preference for exciting specialty rolls, and Sushi House hit the nail on the head. The restaurant is tucked away in one of the plethora of Rockville Pike shopping centers. Upon entering, it looks as though takeout is the only current option, so I would not recommend it for a romantic dinner date. I ordered 3 specialty rolls, and all were extremely fresh and had 5/5 flavor. The Fire Phoenix Roll had the perfect distribution of spice from the spicy tuna and spicy salmon and savory from the tempura shrimp. The crunchy spicy scallops set off the Inner Harbor Roll. Last but not least, the Kent Island Roll, my personal favorite, was elevated by the addition of old bay to the spicy crab meat; 11/10 on the deliciousness scale. If you like creative, flavorful sushi, you have to give this spot a try.

I grabbed a quick but tasty lunch here of their salmon teriyaki bento box. Although the vast majority of their business is take-out, they do have six tables arranged for sit down dining. So I was not surprised when the Miso soup arrived in a plastic take-out bowl with a lid with a plastic spoon. Large cubes of tofu and attention to flavor made it tasty. The California roll was served on its own heavy duty paper plate, with at least a tablespoon of pickled ginger and a teaspoon of wasabi. The teriyaki salmon, two large pieces, was served in an open to-go box, along with a sizeable portion of edamame and a house salad with a lovely ginger sauce. The salmon was perfectly cooked with enough teriyaki sauce to ensure some with every bite of salmon without the fish swimming in the sauce. Clearly a place worthy of a return visit or at least to phone ahead for take-out.
