Negative Experience at Michaels Rockville Pike Location:
I really wish I could say nice things about my Michael's framing experience, but can't. I waited for 10 minutes to see an associate about framing a rare 1800s print. The associate was very nice, but did NOT know how to use, what he referred to as, the updated Michaels' framing software. He told me that I was going to "love" the price. It only took me 5 minutes to select a mat and a frame, however, he spent nearly an hour, with me standing there trying to figure out the system. He finally called over another associate, who helped him navigate the system. Even so, the associate was unable to correctly size my frame. I wanted the Michaels' minimum size of 7 inches for one of the dimensions (about 10 inches for the other), but he was unable to do this and specified a frame size of 8 inches, which jacked up the price a little more. Finally, after more than an hour, he rang me up (for an 8" by 10" simple frame with one mat)... $375 !!! After the 70% 'bait and switch' discount, it still came to more than $110, which was still too expensive for this simple small framing job. I talked to the floor manager, who promised me that the store manager would call me to talk about this... that was a week ago and I have heard nothing. Read moreI have no problem with the items I bought, but the services here are ridiculous. I bought 91 DMC floss thread online and picked at this store. When I got home, I found 9 of them were missing, and they gave me 4 that I didn’t order. I understand 91 items are a lot, there can be some mistakes. But on the paper order summary it shows some of the missing one are actually out of stock, but no one notify me that to give me a refund for these when I picked up the order.
Today, I drove back to the store, try to find some of the missing ones and refund the ones that were out of stock, I also brought those 4 I didn’t order they gave me by mistake, and the rest of the thread I ordered. The manager came to me, asked me how many I ordered and did I counted how many I got, I said I already checked. She said they scan everything when they prepare the order. I said then how come I got something that were not on the order. Then she took the bag, and pour out the whole bag of the threads started counting in front of me! I can’t believe that! She count it like I was lying just for 9 freaking floss threads! If it’s $20 for each, I can understand that. But it only $0.46 for each one! Read moreI would like to take this opportunity to write a good review about Sandy, who works at the Michael store in Rockville Pike.Sandy is always friendly and helpful, and she goes above and beyond to make sure that her customers are happy. I would like to add that most of the associates working at this place are nice and welcoming but I have had opportunities to be helped with Sandy! Likewise, I had a horrible experience with Jace at Michaels in Germantown, I wish Sandy was there for teaching Jace how to treat people:( I have gone to the Michael store to buy some flowers for arranging in my new house. I was not sure what kind of flowers to get, so I asked Sandy for help. She was very patient and knowledgeable, and she helped me to choose the perfect flowers for the beautiful arrangement. She also helped me to arrange the flowers in a vase, and she gave me some tips on how to keep them looking fresh.
I was very impressed with Sandy's customer service, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a helpful and friendly salesperson. She is a valuable asset to the Michael store, and I am grateful for...
