Bubble's and Tea tries to be too many things at once. It uses its old timely, but modern aesthetic to draw in customers who are looking for a unique "traditional" experience. However, do not be fooled. Although they use authentic Chinese herbs and ingredients, they some how manage to create a concoction that reminds me of a watered down sewage. They put their more "traditional" items near the front of the menu and the milk tea items in the "creamer" section. I took the liberty of trying items from both sections and I was thoroughly disappointed in each. I tried the "Snowy Berry Fields" from their first section and it wasn't too bad. My first criticism is how the drink as a whole did not work together. They start by adding dried berry, pouring the tea, and then for some reason, they throw in coconuts pieces in. I know they want to fit with the theme of a snowy field, but in what world does dried Chinese berry's go well with coconuts. The whole drink was fighting against itself and on top of that, the tea by itself tasted bland (not including toppings). The last criticism on this drink was the pricing. Depending on what size you get, the price ranges from $4.50- $5.50 USD and that doesn't include that the stupid add-on toppings. How are you going to look me in the eye and tell me rainbow rubber bubbles are worth 50 cents? That is quite frankly insulting. The cost to make a pizza at Cici's Pizza is about 27 cents and now you are selling me bubbles that cost almost double to accompany a drink that barely beats mineral water in flavoring! A bubble tea without its bubbles is not bubble tea, so I normally don't mind paying a little bit extra to enhance the experience. However, the drink was not good and the bubbles are poured straight from the package. At least Kung Fu tea has the decency to coat/dip their bubble in a sugar substance to justify its 25 cent pricing, while here the only justification to add another 25 cents on top of the regular bubbles is that these 50 cent rainbow bubbles are different colors! The last and worse drink I had was the tiramisu bubble tea. This drink was a complete disaster from appearance to taste to texture. They incorporate their style of traditional tea into this drink, but it only serves to water it down. If you enjoy drinking coffee that uses 95% tap water, then you are in for a real treat. It looks like a brown oily mess and has bits of what I assume is coffee powder in it. You can barely taste any of the actual coffee inside because the watery flavor of it clears your palate before you can even attempt to enjoy it. They are holding themselves back by trying to stick with a theme they cannot deliver on and their greedy tactics only serve to show who they really care...
Read moreWe just being offered these bubble tea at the Diabolo (Chinese Yo Yo) competition on 3/16/2019. This is not a good and authentic bubble tea. The "bubble"--Tapiocas were not freshly cooked on the same day. It has been put into refrigerator over night so that they were so hard from inside out (Center of the bubble all the way out.) . Hard to chew and not elastic. I don't know it was because the order were so big (Maybe 100 cups?) so that they don't have enough time to cook the bubble on the same day when the order needs to be delivered? Or just being lazy and think that they can use refrigerator ( over night ) bubbles. I am not impressed with the milk tea (too much milk and can't hardly taste the tea.) or the bubble. Actually I am quite disappointed. Bubble tea was originated from my hometown(Taichung, Taiwan) so I have been drinking it since my teen years so I know what is good bubble...
Read moreI am a huge fan of Taro, and the fact that they use real Taro in their Taro Milk was what made me want to try this place!
Typically most establishments will use the taro powder but here you get the real thing. Because of this, you will then see the color of the drink is much lighter. Keep in mind that you will feel the texture of mini-chunks of the taro in there, but for me I did not mind that at all. The drink had a great taste and the boba I had was fine.
Also, they do have an extensive menu of different tea and boba options, but since I do not live in the area and cannot come here often, I am always just tempted to get the Taro Milk!
The place has a nice interior and I have been able to also try some other dessert options such as their shaved ice, which was...
