We love Jason's deli but haven't been back for a while. The whole stupidity of covid just had us using takeout and we did several times order pickup soup and sandwiches. Decided to stop for lunch today...its not what it was. First, my order was wrong. I ordered the new Yorker or something like that, pastrami, corned beef, cheese, mayo, on marbled rye. Got the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo. My husband got the rueben. I was asked what type of bread I wanted and picked French. When they brought our order, I had a dry 1/2 French roll with a handful of pastrami. I told the server, this isn't what I ordered. He needed to get help, they compared order tickets. Meantime, no soup. Finally the manager or at least someone in charge came out and said they would remake what I had ordered. Still no soup. Waited. And waited. And waited, Meantime my husband is already 1/2 way through his meal. Finally a lady brings out my order. Now, I love your soup, especially the cheddar broccoli, it's always so good. Not today. It was a brown color instead of the bright orange and tasted scorched, like it had been sitting and over cooked. My sandwich was good, but wasn't on French bread like I had ordered but at that point I was just done. My ice tea had been brewed in a coffee pot, I've managed restaurants and I know its a short cut not to clean it out first but the tea tasted like coffee. Finally the cherry on top, decided to have a rootbeer float for desert. Only, the only flavor ice cream they had was chocolate. There were 3 of us up there at the same time with the same idea. Nope. Really disappointed in the...
Read moreI work down the street from the new rockwall location, so it’s super convenient for me to go there for lunch on my break; however, the customer service is seriously lacking at this store. I’ve had numerous encounters of things not making into my bag whenever I go through the drive thru. I have ordered the chicken ceaser salad twice from here, with NO DRESSING being placed in the bag. Once I noticed before I drove off (because I HAD TO CHECK THE BAG) and another time was whenever I got back to work. Super disappointing not to mention a waste of money, because who really wants to eat a dry salad. And I was just there today and after I got my order I drove to the end of the parking lot, checked my bag, and sure enough there was no spoon for my chili. So I had to go all the way back around through the drive thru and do someone else’s job for them.
I seriously do not understand what is so hard about taking and order, preparing it, placing the order in the bag, checking the order, and then giving it to the customer. All I think of is integrity, and having this in a establishment is crucial to the experience a customers has. I guess this is a quality that jason’s deli doesn’t require to work there. And for the cost of their food, which is on the pricey side, I would think that accuracy and precision would be something they strive for. I will say the cookies are good...
Read moreJason's has been a staple of our eateries for years. We've been to locations all over Texas and Tennessee. Almost always good and our Rockwall location is no different. It's only been open a few months and we're happy they are here and yes I know it takes time to work the kinks out. My biggest concern is the salad bar. On several occasions the lettuce is turning brown and just looks nasty. It's never very crisp and has a lot of water in the pan. I cannot understand why anyone would think its okay to even put it on the bar at all. The bar is really too small, many times its a wreck and they are trying to refill it but not able to keep up. You have to keep asking for thing and it's this usually half empty. I see one person trying to refill it and three others doing nothing. Leaning against the wall, on their cell, whatever. The bar was half empty on my last couple of visits, even though it was after 3 pm. The place is freezing cold so make sure to take a jacket. The soda machine is always a wreck and the grill appears to be broken and the drain often clogged. On my last visit, I ordered a turkey sandwich to go. When I got home and opened the bag I found that the pickle spear either had a bite taken out of it or something. ..still not sure but I am wondering why someone would think it's okay to serve it. Anyway...
