I have been to this restaurant 8+ times in the last 1.5 years at all times in the day from late morning to night. All but 1 of the times I had absolutely horrible service. I have decided they will no longer be receiving my patronage.
Their enchiladas are very creamy, which is nice for a change and what makes them stand out. However, their prices are ridiculous, sizes not too generous, and waiters are lazy. Their corn chips are pretty crappy too.
Last time I went there, there were 3 other parties in the restaurant. It took them 40 minutes to get me my food, which I'm pretty sure is because my waiter forgot about me. (He came by and asked "[Wait, ] have you not gotten your food yet?"). I munched on their stale-ish chips while waiting. We did get our nacho appetizer pretty quickly, but I thought it was horrible, though my guest thought it was ok. A margarita was incredibly overpriced. Drink refills came fast for once, but we had to wait for 15 minutes after we finished eating to finally get our waiter's attention to bring our check. We did not feel like yelling across the restaurant even though we were the only party there for the last 20 minutes. The staff were all just at the other end of the restaurant standing around talking to each other.
The worst part was that, while I gave them a very low $2 tip for their crappy service, they decided to double their tip to $4 (I disputed it with my credit card company. I have a feeling this isn't the first time they have done this).
They need to get their act together.
[Edit a year later] Tried them one last time through door dash. Food was barely edible and the order was wrong. I'm guessing they just gave the left over food. Only way to get it out as fast as they did. We ended up throwing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTrevino's is located in the beautiful San Jacinto Plaza on the corner of N Goliad. Unfortunately, it falls flat in comparison to the other restaurants in the immediate area.
I dropped in for lunch on a Wednesday and was sorely disappointed š
The chips and salsa left much to be desired, very bland compared to other Tex Mex in the nearby City of Rockwall. This is usually an immediate red flag for me, but I was willing to give it a chance.
The lunch menu was small, and I settled on a classic choice of " fajitas".
Normally fajitas are choice of meat š, rice &beans, and a few flour or corn tortillas.
However, Trevino's decided that fajitas should include tons of "peppers and onions", french fries, and no tortillas. ā¹ļø
The fajita meat was alright in all fairness, but the portion was on the smaller side and I was unable to actually enjoy it due to the lack of tortillas. French fries were fresh and crisp but again, not really what I expected nor wanted.
It's my fault for assuming the fajitas would infact be fajitas, and if I had suspected that I would need to Google translate the menu to get an English description of the food, then I would have and this entire disaster could have been avoided.
In the end, after eating the fajita meat, rice, and beans. (And a few french fries). I simply paid and left.
( After 45 mins I realized I was still hungry, and needed to order something else to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner)
The service was pretty good. I have no complaints on that. And the unsweetened tea was a bit bland compared to other places, but it was ice cold and wet š¦.
I simply...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been so sooo many food places and authentic places even to Mexico and this place by far is the worst. If we asked the waiter anything he was ready for ānoā as his response before I could finish. Rockwall is beautiful and they are wasting this space with such poor food! Please, please either change it or get rid of it. There was 0 flavor and I didnāt even finish my food. I have even had just meh food but this food will never leave my memory as the worst Tex Mex by far. Again owners please please reconsider. You have an AMAZING opportunity and location and itās being poorly managed and going to waste.
Iām sorry but I feel it is my right to provide my honest review. Why am I to cater to lies to benefit a restaurant being open so long? As I have read from other owner replies it seems to me that you do not want to hear the truth and would rather we just shut up. Well I will not. I support all businesses and until you fix your issues you will continue to lose business. Either accept criticism and run your business better or be prepared for it to eventually close. Your choice but stop trying to make people feel that they cannot dislike this restaurant as you cannot try to deceive the new comers!
The rice was bland, dry and semi hard, the fajitas just tasted like normal beef almost burnt. The charro beans were bland. The tacos, enchiladas and tamales had 0 flavor. I also do not recall the waiters name but he was an older gentleman. I do not leave good or bad reviews unless something stands out to me. We were polite, we tipped well and I just feel that there should be an open mind to...
