*Update 1/11/23* I continue to visit Wells on a regular basis. My original review holds strong. This place is absolutely amazing. I frequent regularly, and they have solidified my standing as a regular customer. Absolutely excellent! ## My wife and I tried this place based on a recommendation from our neighbor. It was absolutely amazing. Talking to the gentleman who took our order, we learned that Wells is a family owned restaurant, that co-exists with their family cattle ranch. All of the meat used there came directly from their ranch. I loved that aspect, because the restaurant knew the quality of the meat, where exactly it came from, and how the cows were fed and taken care of. Once we tasted the food, we knew we found something special.Wells is easily one of the best burgers I've had, and will be one of the best you've had. I can all but guarantee it. The burgers were juicy, flavored so well, and the perfect size of bulky without being too much to handle. Their french fries were homestyle and also cooked as perfectly as the burgers were. My wife stated the fries were easily the best she's ever had anywhere. I definitely wouldn't put up much of an argument with her on it. I ordered the Monster Burger. Two patties, cheese, a fried egg, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mustard, ketchup. My wife had the Gold Rush Burger. One patty, avocado, honey mustard, lettuce, onion, pickle, tomato. Both of these burgers were top notch. I can't wait to try out the others. And don't forget to try their homemade ranch and spicy ketchup. Both were phenomenal. Aside from the spectacular food, the service was incredible. Everyone was very kind and pleasant, checked up on us, and made the experience feel very friendly. You could tell everyone genuinely enjoyed us being there. It didn't feel like forced smiles or forced service, like you'd get at some other places. Exactly what you'd think family owned should feel like. I will 100% definitely be back to Wells. And of all the places I have reviewed or recommended, this is one of my top favorites.

We dropped by for a late lunch. They weren’t busy at all, only two couples were currently sat. It was our first time and there was no real clear signage on if it was a self-seating/self service environment. They do have the “Order” sign to lead you to the stand but nothing clear on the above stated. We waited a long while before anyone came to take our order, which okay because we weren’t quite sure what we wanted anyhow. When she finally did come out, we had stated it was our first time so we weren’t sure how their environment. It came off more as an inconvenience and “figure it out yourself” type. We wished we had gotten a receipt because it came out to be much more expensive than we had counted up. It also prompts you to tip after paying even though it’s a complete self service environment (which we didn’t know right then). We ordered a burger with fries/drink, another with loaded fries/drink and a kids meal. Everything came out together except the loaded fries. The person who brought the food said they’d be out in a minute, alrighty cool. We began to get impatient because we finished our burgers and seen two other tables (who arrived well after us) get their food and we still hadn’t gotten our loaded fries. My husband & I were talking about just requesting a refund and leaving since we were done eating when the loaded fries finally came. Those were the biggest let down. It’s just (at least our order of them) a mound of fries with maybe a 1/4 cup shredded cheese, tiny diced jalapeños, and maybe 2 tablespoons of red sauce. Second biggest let down was the kids meal. I understand kids meals having smaller portions obviously but the kids burger bun was the size of a Hawaiian a roll (posted a picture for reference to show size comparison to my cup lid). So clearly the patty was even smaller, a very sad portion of fries and of all things Mott’s fruit gummies… Overall the burgers themselves were good but not for their pricing nor the service or environment. And a side note for ranch lovers- pass. I wouldn’t recommend.

Wells Cattle Co Burgers & Pies in Rockwall. Go here. Seriously, just go, then thank me later. 😎 First of all, the food is awesome. Incredible burgers, a number of which have awesome options. I had the pimento cheese burger, and I quickly found myself asking where it has been my whole life. So incredibly good! My fiance had a regular cheeseburger and loved it. The loaded fries were super tasty. And you don't even want to get me started on the chocolate sheet cake with vanilla ice cream, which was beyond words. Arguably more important than the food was the welcoming environment. This is a family owned and run business, and from the moment we walked in, as cheesy as it sounds, we felt like family. Everyone was super outgoing and happy to hang out and have some good conversation. Honestly one of the friendliest restaurant experiences I've had to date. And that goes a LONG way for me. The food could be mediocre (it's not, at all), and I'd still go back just for the smiles and laughs. And lastly, eating here is the very definition of "supporting local." Clearly it's a local business. But even further, their beef comes from their own family farm. All sauces and baked goodies are made in-house. Ice cream is from a local creamery (and it's so good!). And everything else that is not made in-house is sourced from local companies in the surrounding counties. It may not matter to everyone, but to me it is a thick icing on the cake when almost every product involved is in direct support of local Texas businesses. ❤️ So yeah, it's a long review, but very deserving in my opinion. If you have the chance, go check this place out. But be forewarned, you might find yourself there much more often than you're prepared for... 🤣

Like every other new restaurant they started off great had really high-quality beef hamburgers. I haven’t been in over a year because the service sucks but I tried it again tonight only to find out now the food sucks! They changed the hamburger patty it was fresh ground beef when they opened now it’s just a rubber hamburger puck and french fries were disgusting! They still have the elderly mother or aunt up there working on the floor Very sweet woman, but overwhelmed. I am sure she enjoys working and helping the family, but there’s no reason they should not get her some help. she is hard-working, but only one woman she can’t do everything. God bless her. You’re a lot better off going to rodeo goat!

I’m telling you the food sucks I ordered $32 worth of food one hotdog one hamburger or excuse me frozen hamburger Puck burnt greasy, french fries and a brownie and ice cream, which I never saw.

I took a bite of the hamburger spit it out on the table took 2 bite of the hotdog, spit it out being out the money and the time there was no way in hell I was gonna wait for the brownie and ice cream. I for one will never step foot in that place again I heard they are trying to do some catering out in caddo mills which blows my mind. Lowering the quality, I don’t think this place will be in business long-term, unless they go back to the quality they had when they first opened. I’m sure someone will respond from wells with some excuse or smart comment. If you work all day and you’re willing to spend $32-$35 for a decent hamburger and a hotdog, it Not too much to ask for the food to be fresh. A little Services a fresh iced tea The gentleman that owns it not sure of his name I think maybe Lee Wells had a great plan when he opened this restaurant. I was one of the first customers one of the best hamburgers around because it was great fresh beef and fresh french fries .I believe the mother and aunt both used to work up there. Great dessert felt like home. It’s not too late. You can turn this thing around by going back to the basics going back the way you started it. People in Rockwall will almost pay any price if you keep up the quality of the food and have just a little bit of service I hope you make the right decisions. Good luck.

Well, just like I predicted received a smart comment from the owner.(look at other negative post he seems very defensive) You know, we all know those people in our lives that say if only I knew, why didn’t somebody tell me instead of taking the feedback and making changes some people like to stay in denial?

Owner states and comment Reader please disregard my comments I must be crazy. If my comments are crazy, all you have to do is read several other posts on here about the lack of service or the trash cans overflowing I believe one person even left pictures. As for the comment I made about the hamburger patties, not being the same. Maybe it is the same beef I could be wrong. Maybe they started freezing it something has changed I’m not sure what.but I do know before the patties were fresh and now they’re not. I left off the lack of seasoning which I may be crazy as the owner stated fun fact look at the reviews, several other people said the exact same thing. this was based off my personal experience. I guess time will tell future customers will have...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wells Cattle Co. and it will now be one of my favorite spots for burgers – and it’s not just because of the mouthwatering food. The overall experience at this establishment was top-notch, thanks to their exceptional service and hospitality.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, making sure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations, making it clear that they truly care about their customers’ satisfaction.

Now, onto the star of the show – the burgers. Let me just say, they were absolutely amazing. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, these burgers were everything I could have hoped for and more. The menu offered a variety of options, from classic burgers to more unique creations including gluten free and keto options, all of which were made with high-quality ingredients. And the best part? The portions were generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry.

But what truly sets this small-town, big flavor joint apart is their exceptional service and hospitality. Throughout my meal, the staff and owner checked in on me regularly, making sure I had everything I needed. They were attentive and made you feel right at home, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.

Aside from the delicious food and great service, the atmosphere was also something worth noting. It had a friendly and inviting vibe, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. Whether you’re dining alone or with a group, you'll be welcome with southern hospitality and fell right at home.

In addition to their burgers, the restaurant also offers a variety of sides and desserts, all of which were equally delicious. And to top it all off, the prices were reasonable, making it a excellent value for the quality of food and service.

Overall, I highly recommend Wells to anyone looking for a great burger with exceptional service and Texan hospitality. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu items. Trust me, once you try it,...
