Stopped in today for breakfast with my wife and adult son. Restaurant was busy, but not super busy. A lot of people were leaving when we got in line to wait to be seated. A man was waiting to pick up a carry out order. No one acknowledged us or the man waiting to pick up an order. One employee, who turned out to also be a waitress was chasing out a couple of people. When she got to the last person, she finally acknowledged us and the man waiting to pick up his order with an "i'll be right with you folks". Better late than never and i can understand she was busy. A few more minutes and she asks the three of us how many and seats us at a booth/chair combo table near the kitchen. The booth seat was dirty. She didn't wipe it down or offer to clean it. Someone in the kitchen drops something and glass breaks. A cook aks if everyone is ok. A bus boy is working, clearing tables. Three or four waitress are chatting in the kitchen. Despite the hostess, who is also a waitress, telling us that Mariah would be right with us, no body ever showed up. After another several minutes we just got up and left. No one cared. No one stopped us or asked anything. We went to Gunselmans and we're greeted, seated and served drinks within two minutes as a hungry person everything a restaurant would want to be treated. For the life of me i can not understand how a waitress working at First Watch in Rocky River wouldn't want to get to their table and serve their customer and make their tip. I spent plenty at Gunselmans and tipped about 30%. I wouldn't go back to First Watch in Rocky River if it were free. I can eat at home much cheaper than eating out. When i pay a premium to eat out I expect good service. No one at First Watch even cared their were customers in the restaurant for the 15+ minutes i was there. Other than the one lady who rang out some checks and the bus boy, I literally saw no one do anything to address any of the customers. I couldn't recommend it less.
I can't comment on the food, but if it never comes it doesn't matter. Maybe that's the idea? If you're starving you might think it...
Read moreI want to start by saying my family frequents First Watch often and usually enjoys a consistent experience, which is why our visit on Saturday, June 28 was such a letdown.
We came in to join our mom, who already had a table. After we sat, it took over 10 minutes for our server, Rachel, to greet us and take our drink order. Her energy was noticeably flat—no warmth or effort to make us feel welcome. We ordered ice waters, and my mom and I also asked for hot water with lemon. It took another 10 minutes for her to bring them—and even then, the hot water canister was only half full (for two people), and she only brought one mug.
When she asked if we were ready to order, we said we needed a few more minutes. She walked away and didn’t return for about 10 more minutes. When she did, I reminded her about the second mug. She said okay—but never brought it.
Later, she briefly stopped by to drop off syrup for my daughter’s waffle and left again without checking on us. Another server brought our food, but Rachel never came back to ask how it was or if we needed anything. We ended up asking a different server for a plate, which turned out to be dirty. My sister just put a napkin on it to avoid making a scene.
By the time Rachel returned, we were nearly finished. We asked for more hot water—again, it never came. Our plates weren’t cleared, waters weren’t refilled, and she didn’t offer boxes or napkins. She eventually brought the check and told us, “no rush,” but at that point, we were ready to go.
When my sister went to pay, the hostess asked the usual “How was everything?” We gave a short, honest answer, and she just said, “Oh, sorry about that,” then told us the total. There was no real concern, no manager called—just a quick apology and move on.
I don’t know if what we experienced was typical for this location, but we certainly didn’t feel cared for. As POC, we couldn’t help but wonder if that played a role in how we were treated. Either way, it left a bad taste, and we won’t be returning to this location.
We’ll continue going to Crocker Park, where we’ve always had a...
Read moreTwo weeks ago my wife and I went hereand ordered two avocado toast, two coffees. she handed me a bill for $48 and without thinking I paid it. It should've been 30. this is July 13 approximately 1230. By the time I got home they were closed. I called the next day. I talked to the manager and he says give your contact information to the guy here and I will get back to you. He never did. His problem, not mine that's one issue. The other one was the service was P poor. I asked for eggs to be runny, they came back harder than bricks. The person who took my order did not deliver my order so I never got the chance to say how displeased I was. I would say if you want eggs done right don't go to any first watch anywhere in this country. My experience is they get the eggs right one out of four times. This place no exception. You should stay out of here because the manager's job is to handle situations just like this, not cooking in the kitchen, and he punted. He shouldn't be working in the kitchen and the reason why he couldn't take my phone call in the first place. A manager manages, he didn't have the staff to do the job that he was doing, in the kitchen. I didn't ask to talk to a cook. I asked to talk to the manager. The manager was cooking, not managing. That's why the place was screwed up. And before you fall on your sword with your phony, mea culpa, remember, I will edit this till the cows come home and answer every one of...
