This is an update on my review. I have been to Taza in Rocky River about 6 times now. I have recommended it to friends and co-workers and they all feel the same as I do. They love the food, the service and the ambiance, and have returned several times. I was there again on Saturday night with a friend who had never been there before. She loved everything about the place. Natalie was as pleasant and gracious as always. Our server was Youssef...such a charming and delightful young man, a wonderful addition to the waitstaff at Taza. He told us about starting there as a dishwasher, moved up to a line cook and is now working the front of the house! Kudos to management and the owners for recognizing a natural for their waitstaff. Very often, I have returned to a restaurant after a wonderful dining experience and been disappointed the second time, but not at Taza, it just keeps getting better! As a side note, I have also visited Jasmine Bakery, which has the same owners. They offer some of the best homemade pita bread, meat pies, spinach pies and so many other delicious Lebanese offerings.
You will LOVE everything about Taza! The dining room and bar area are warm and inviting. The staff is attentive and friendly, they make you feel like you're family, especially Natalie and Jordan. They both took such good care of us. The food is superb; everything is fresh, has the perfect blend of spices and is beautifully presented. Honestly, it is the best Lebanese food I have ever tasted. My friend and I shared the hummos and falafel appetizers and they were amazing. We also shared two entrees, the mujadara and the shawarma plate, both prepared to perfection, so delicious. We ended our meal with the lemon cake, which was light, so tasty and not too sweet. Last night was my first visit to Taza, but it will not be my last. Make your reservations today, you won't be...
Read moreA superlative dining experience. We came for a late lunch after flying in early from Wisconsin for upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. We were graciously greeted by Mary Clair. Once seated she cheerfully answered all our questions about Taza’s most popular appetizers and entrees. All her recommendations were fabulous (hummus with vegetables, beef schwarma and chicken shish tawook). We were later greeted by Natalie who partnered with Mary to provide us with the most incredible service we have ever experienced in years. We dine out frequently and we love middle eastern food. Taza exceeded our expectations. Natalie offered us their wonderful homemade hot sauce along with garlic and tahini sauces. The mint tea was hot and flavorful. She gave us the entire pot to share. At the end of our meal, Natalie generously provided us with a small assortment of Baklava as a complimentary gift. It just so happens that is my favorite desert. Mary Clair and Natalie frequently and unobtrusively checked with us during the meal to make sure we were taken care of. I wholeheartedly recommend Taza and can’t wait to be back. Kudos to Natalie and Mary Clair for an outstanding and pleasant dining experience. By the way, the total price was such a bargain that we can’t wait to go back and try other dishes as well as their sister eatery “Aladin”. ...
Read moreThe lebanese salad was very fresh and accompanied the lamb kabob very well. I shared the dishes with another person and felt satisfied. The lamb kabob came with grilled veg and rice with a garlic sauce and a white sauce. I am not super familiar with lebanese food but i know what’s tasty and flavorful. I would say the salad fits that bill and the garlic cream sauce is necessary to eat with the lamb for more flavor. No need to worry about gamey smells or flavors. I was hoping it would be more charred on the outside and more pink/juicy on the inside but perhaps that is mistake of making it medium. I would ask for rare next time. The grilled veg was very good. I wish i had ordered the hummus but i knew it would be too much food. They made a mistake of giving us the small vs large and admitted to the mistake and didn’t charge us for the extra portion which was very kind of them and also gave us baklava on the house. I absolutely recommend the mint tea or coffee with the dessert as it is very sweet and dense. It is a good combo. I went at 1:30sh on sunday and there were few people but i could still hear the convos across the restaurant. If it were busy i think it would be very loud and i personally would avoid those times. I would definitely return and try...
