Kathy's Kolacke & Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Rocky River

I have been there a handful of times starting this past winter and the first few times were great. The butter cookies with frosting swirls were amazing! They were perfectly crumbly and melted in your mouth, with smooth creamy frosting. But the past few times I have gone everything has gone downhill quickly, getting worse each time.

The butter cookies have been dry, sandy, and the frosting was rock hard (clearly they were old and stale). The large cookies (sugar, peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chunk) were all soft, but tasted only like flour; barely any if the flavor they were supposed to be. The double frosted brownies barely tasted of chocolate and the texture was exactly like cake (not even a cakey brownie texture, like straight up cake). And the chocolate croissants had barely any chocolate and were almost impossible to chew.

I thought maybe it was an off day when things started tasting meh, but clearly something else is going on that it is continuing to get worse over multiple visits.

Unfortunately I will not be back. For the high cost of these items they need to be...

Absolutely the worst shopping experience in my life. Avoid this place like the plague. Abysmal customer service and horrible quality. Just before Christmas I ordered several types of cookies, kolachky, and bakery rolls on roll from the website. After my order was accepted as complete and charged, the owner wrote back to say that half of them had been "discontinued" even though all the items continued to be listed online. I told her to send the rest and use USPS Priority Mail. After waiting 10 days without receiving them, I contacted the owner. It turned out the package had been sitting in either her shop or the local Post Office because it had not been properly addressed. When the package finally arrived almost 14 days after ordering, the contents were spoiled and disgusting: completely dried-out, brittle, hard, and inedible. I asked the owner for a refund. After procrastinating in answering and fobbing me off, she refused a refund, and my card was charged the entire amount. I have never in my life encountered such cynical incompetence...

This was the first time that I visited this quaint little bakery. Oh my gosh! This was so adorable in a really cute little town. The minute you walk in to this little shop the aroma overtakes you. You just want to stand for a while and inhale because it smells so delicious. The bakery was amazing. I ordered two of the nut kolacki, one cheese kolacki, a chocolate brownie, and a piece of cream cake. Everything was so delicious I definitely will be back for more. The kolacki we're very flaky and thick and so delicious, the brownie was more cake-like but was so scrumptious along with the chocolate thick fudge frosting. You definitely have to put this on your bucket list and go there for a little treat. There are a few tables where you can eat inside. The shop does sell coffee so this makes an excellent little spot to go for dessert or for coffee. The person who waited on me was very nice and very accommodating. I highly recommend this...
