Since I've lived a few blocks down from this place my entire life I was practically raised on this food, so this will definitely be a sentimental review. With that being said I truly believe El Famous stands out among the dizzying array of Taco Joints on Clark street. Amigo, Who needs a fork! Their football sized burritos definitely come as advertised and are packed to the brim to the point of 'Chipotlian' proportions, but a lot more genuine and cheaper than Chipotle. They also have fantastic breakfast items including my personal favorite- the Huevos Rancheros. Only complaint would be that over the years the size of their tacos has shrunk considerably (yes, I notice!), and the spicy kick that made their salsa so amazing has been muted perhaps to the appeasement bland palate gringos everywhere. Overall though the staff is always very friendly and the selection great, so I would recommend it to anyone with a craving for...
Read moreI have been here three times. The name of the place it's fairly unassuming, and doesn't look any different from any other standard taqueria. Each time service has been friendly, the food is tasty without being too greasy or too salty, and the quality of the food seems like a cut above many taquerias that I'm used to. One thing I've noticed about this place is that the pieces of meat that they use are always juicy, and well prepared, in that I don't find random pieces of cartilage or bone, which is something I have come to expect from an average Taqueria such as Taco Burrito King. It is a great value too, for less than ten bucks, I was able to get an al pastor & chicken burrito w everything. It is big enough for 2 full servings! No complaints on anything here. If you're in the area grab some food here, you won't...
Read moreI had to call 30 minutes after the arrival time to see where the food was. They told me there was a mix up and that theyll send it right out. I'm thinking my food is gonna arrive hot considering I'm 5/7 minutes away (depending how you drive). It wasnt hot at all. It was cold surprisingly. And still took them about 20 minutes to deliver it after.
I Ordered a steak burrito, 5 (4 chicken 1 steak) tacos and cheese fries from this place. Dont waste your money on a burrito it's mostly lettuce and all tortilla with a thin line(really thin line) of meat. There was more meat in my tacos then burrito. First and last time trying. Tbh the only good thing about my order was the cheese fries. Thanks, I'll stick to my place and just take the drive to Taco & Burrito house on irving...
