We entered and found our seat, But before we could even take our coats off and get comfortable we were being asked what we wanted to order. We then asked if we could have some menus first. The waitress then brought the menus and two Kinds of salsa and walked away. She returned quickly and we weren’t ready, but I asked her if we were going to be served chips with her meal. She then told us we had to buy the chips. I said that was fine. She then returned with the chips and she took our order. Me and my mother both ordered a two taco dinner. before she left again we asked, if we could have some cups of water while we waited for our meal to arrive. They told us that they only offered bottle water and we would have to purchase our waters as well. We both kind of looked at each other like what the heck? The waitress then said she would provide water for us, at no charge. She came back with 2 cups of water with no ice and we were happy to have it. Less than 10 minutes later our food arrived to the table but it was not our taco dinners it was just two tacos for each of us.We told her that we both ordered the same item, a two taco dinner, but she was somewhat rude to us after she make the mistake. She then went and Got us our rice and beans lightning fast, but both plates were cold and very unappetizing. At that point I asked if we could have a little more water with our meal and she said yes. unfortunately she returned back to the table with a 2 L jug of purified water that looked Suspecr. No ice was offered and she filled up our cups with this purified water jug. I question the expiration date on the jug And she kind of just walked off. Both me and my mother started eating our chicken tacos and were bombarded by gristle, ligaments and other elements in the tacos that we had to spit out into napkins. At the end of the meal I went up and paid and tipped the waitress at the front counter, but received no thank you, come again, or any kind of salutation whatsoever. In walking out to Clark Street back to our Car, I apologize to my mother for the poor service, food and overall experience...

It's not very good. A lot of locals and college kids seem to like this place, but I really can't tell why. The food is barely seasoned, and just absolutely dull. The place was empty during dinnertime on a Sunday night, and I can tell why. The burrito just felt like a big nasty pile of sour cream and lettuce. The menu is unclear, doesn't really list prices, and is legitimately just a board above the order counter with no paper copies in sight. It felt like a guessing game to order, and like they just sort of arbitrarily charged us some random number lol. Felt REALLY expensive for the amount of food we were given- plates were sparse. The taco meat tasted extremely cheap, had a LOT of gristle, and was unseasoned. The place felt dirty and confusing, not really like a real restaurant but like a few confused staff members trying to remember where they were. The rice was uncooked and literally had crunch to it. It was also never clear how exactly to order or eat? There are tables you can sit at, and a waitress taking some orders at tables, but we sat and we were not served, so we had to go to the counter. It just seems like such an inconsistent experience, I really don't think anyone there knew what they were doing unfortunately.

Overall, there are a LOT of options for taquerias and Mexican restaurants in this area- why would you go to...

This is the most unprofessional place that is on the Northside, mostly everyone in the dirty hole place don’t speak English and they DON’T have papers. I use to work up North for four years an would often come in to get two tacos on my lunch break, when I noticed that it was a new face there who just started an didn’t speak English, I had ask for two steak tacos with just cilantro onions and cheese. When I got my order it was not what I ask for an she looked mad and not only that went in other time an it was the same thing. There is no parking but the steak is good. The Ground beef taste water down and it’s comes super wet. The pork is dried out...

If you’re in the Rogers Park area and you want some good authentic tacos stop by Taqueria Hernandez. I came here off of a recommendation as to who has the most flavorful Carne Asada tacos and they didn’t disappoint. With the taco dinner get two tacos as opposed to the three other places, but it’s really good and the staff was friendly.

I stopped by here at the recommendation of my hair dresser. The tacos were really delicious hard to eat without a fork. Ground beef and avocados. I always enjoy the sangria. The waiter and the cook were so pleasant and I enjoyed my sit down here.
