Main Pizza Chalavi — Restaurant in Rogers Park Township

I knew that I had a time crunch, so I ordered at 1:30 in the afternoon for a 5 PM pickup. I arrive at 5 PM and they cannot find my order. They said they were running about 15 minutes behind. I pointed out that I had been waiting some 15 minutes. I was then told that they ran out of an ingredient at 3 o'clock. I asked why I was not notified, as I would have changed my order. We are busy was the response. He offered an alternative or a refund. Because of my time crunch, I took the alternative. I was told it would be a 1/2 hour. I said it needs to be faster than that. With some mild profanities spewing out from the person behind the counter, I waited. 35 minutes after the initial pickup time, I received a distant 3rd choice. Yes, they were busy, but to not work with a customer when there is a known issue on the order several hours in advance of pickup and to hear mild profanities to boot, I cannot recommend this place. My favorite part of this place is definitely the salad bar. Fresh and big variety of healthy and tasty options. I can get a salad and make it my whole meal. They also have an icecream bar and pizza which makes my kids happy. One very annoying thing is the flimsy plasticware and paper goods that they have as the only options for eating off of. The paper plates are so thin they get soaked right through from a slice of pizza, the knives will bend and crack if you try to cut anything, the forks are tiny so you can't get a satisfying amount of salad in each bite, and the soup spoons have jagged sharp edges that cut your lips and cheeks as you're eating. I wish they would invest just that tiny bit more to make the paper goods more user friendly, or have the option of offering silverware. It would make such a big difference. That being said, we still really enjoy this family friendly place and come back here...

Opinions written by my 10 yr old son :). Great kosher pizza place! The pizza is good, although I recommend having it when it's fresh. My other favorite food is their Chalavi Mac& cheese. There is also another type of Mac& cheese called Main Mac & cheese, with a red sauce and cheese. The chalavi Mac& cheese is drowning in a cheese sauce, in a good way. It's amazing. Another really good thing is their cheddar fries, although again, I like it only fresh. An important thing to realize- they sometimes close at 7 and sometimes 7:30- no way to find out except calling- and they stop allowing dine in exactly 30 min prior.
