Welcome Zimi's!
Zimi's pizza, particularly the Grandma style, is the best pie of any newly opened shop in Rogers Park. Its crispy, extremely light and extra thin crust in a Chicago tavern rectangle is topped with the freshest and most delicious of ingredients, making for a delightfully satisfying and oddly filling experience. Their house made sausage is all beef, no pork and incomparably dry, well spiced and added in just the right amount by their professional pizza creator Luan, son of Zimi.
Caesar's salad is a balanced mix of fresh greens coated with excellent house made dressing.
BYOB!
Family owned and operated with Zimi and his wife at the helm of an extended brood of sons and cousins, nieces and nephews working the kitchen, front desk and phones (charming, chatty and thoughtful Bessjana deserves special note), the atmosphere is friendly, warm, clean and uplifting. A newly added sidewalk al fresco dining area, covered, partially enclosed and safe from the fickle Chicago weather promises the best possible use of that space.
S and I already are regular customers. We hope to see you...
Read moreHaving previously never tried Balkan cuisine before, I went into this experience blind purely off a friend's recommendation. I made the staff aware that I knew nothing about the cuisine and what to order, and they kindly informed me of each dish whilst giving detailed recommendations based on what I was looking for. I opted for the Philly cheese steak which was far and beyond the best I've had in all of Chicago. To try some cultural specific cuisine I also opted for the meat burek off of the staff's recommendation. Both dishes were hot, crispy and prepared in a timely manner; served politely and efficiently too. I was impressed with the standard of customer service and the cleanliness of the restaurant, aspects which are imperative to me in a good dining experience. I look forward to my next visit to explore more...
Read moreThis place has good food BUT I feel they are really racist towards Mexicans or anyone who’s not from where they’re from. I dined in with my family and wasn’t served complimentary water and everyone who went in after us to dine in got a jug of water without even asking the table and it might not seem like a lot but it really does suck seeing how good of treatment they get over other people. Then in another occasion, I ordered a pizza over the phone and was told 20-25 min and waited 40 minutes standing while having to see other people get there food before me even though I placed the order way before them and got there first. It’s sad to see there’s no diversity especially being in a place in rogers park where there’s a lot of Latinos and I’ve been coming since they...
