Update - the process for returning the carts for handicapped customers needs some major work! Extremely Frustrating, inconvenient and down right dangerous! Recently, I took my 2 elderly neighbors up to Sam's and assisted them with getting a few things. We were advised by staff that they could no longer return those electronic carts to the charging station, while in store. That they now had to ride them out the Exit and into the street.(because some thing was actually parked along side the wall there). They literally had to ride them back into the street/parking lot, weaving in and out of busy traffic. Then they had to just leave them by the Entrance doors, as those doors will lock behind you if you go back inside the store. This made absolutely zero sense to us. No wonder half of them never work. If customers cannot return them to the charging station due to their own physical mobility limitations, and staff themselves are not then bringing them in and plugging them back up, then yea, they're not going to get charged back up properly. Also when we first walked in the first thing staff greeted us with this visit was "None of those work" as my 2 neighbors climbed up into 2 carts. I asked. Well why not? She just looked the other way. I then told her these 2 particular ladies have a lot of serious disabilities (cardiac being just one), and cannot walk the store. It was like she was trying to dissuade them from even trying the carts. We realize some customers play on these things and ride them because they are too lazy to walk, but some customers truly must depend on these and can not get around otherwise. There is a perfectly, very spacious area right outside the Exit doors. Why cant departing customers plug these Electric carts in there and staff periodically rotate them out to the other side. the Entrance? Makes a whole lot more sense than the current set up. Then after her stating they did not work, both my ladies turned them on and rode off with the carts reading out at 95% charged? She was so busy attempting to convince them the carts would not work that she failed to even check their Membership cards.
Very impressed with my visit when I recently drove my neighbor there. It was my first time in this location. Everything was stocked so well and prices seem comparable, for purchasing in bulk. All the staff encountered were very polite and helpful. Thank you. We may have to...
Read moreToday while checking out at Sam’s Club, an employee made a mistake while scanning an item. Not only did she failed to apologize for the mistake, but made me out to be a thief in front of my entire family. She blew the situation out of proportion by summoning two other employees, who were not even aware of the situation, yet aggressively dug through all the items in my cart. I have shopped at Sam’s Club more than twice a week for the past 8 years, and it deeply upsets me that I was treated with such disrespect. I cancelled my membership today and do not plan on ever returning to Sam’s Club.
I already knew there were a lot of racists in this city, but why do I have to experience it here, where I have shopped groceries for over a thousand times in the past 8 years? I never experienced such racism or microaggressions in first 10 years of my 18 years immigration journey before I moved to Rome, GA. Yet, my experiences in this city has been full of similar negative experiences, when my only crime to the offenders is that I am of a different race. I am sick of it. My family members are American citizens and have jobs here, why should we be treated any differently...
Read moreSeriously, no milk. How does a store the size of Sam’s run out of milk. This is a basic staple. Is the issue with the buyer(s) or logistics? Well, at least the refrigeration seems to be working. I’ve been to the Rome store several times over the last couple of months where they have not had refrigerated items. This is the closest Sam’s to me, which is 45 minutes away. Would be very helpful if this info was shared on their website. Let’s review a couple of matters with the cafe. This store just can’t seem to get it together when it comes to their yogurt machine. Absolutely ridiculous. Replace the existing unit or take the yogurt off of your cafe menu! Why are the lights off and folks in closing mode before the posted closing time? Folks wanting to leave early? This is not an anomaly, happens frequently. This Rome Sam’s club must be the worst one ever! I seriously wish we had a Costco in the area. I guess I should just drive the extra 1/2 hour to Costco. My membership is up for renewal in September…that’s not going to happen. I’m tired of paying for...
