How have I lived in Romeoville for five years and never known about this place before this week?! Windy City Grill is the place to go if you are looking for incredible food at a reasonable price. This last Friday my husband wanted to try something different (too much pizza, he says... like that's even possible) so we compromised because, believe it or not, Windy City Grill has pizza too! But once I saw their menu, I decided to try the rib tips dinner. My husband ordered the gyro dinner and we ordered chili cheese fries to share. The rib tips are perfect, so tender and delicious. My only complaint (and it's a very personal preference) is that there was just a bit too much sauce on them. I know I'm weird and most people want ALL the sauce. The gyro meat was amazing and the sauce is incredible. So good, in fact, that we went back yesterday and both ordered the gyro dinner. There is so much meat! Next time we're going to ask for extra pitas. The dinners all come with fries and their fries are cooked perfectly, salty, and delicious. I could probably just eat their fries for the rest of my life and be completely happy. Oh, and we ordered online and had no problems at all. Our food was hot and ready when we arrived for pick up. The cookies are not good at all. Don't waste your money. It's the only dessert option online and they are terrible. They're purchased from an outside vendor so it didn't surprise me when they weren't good because I believe that anything Windy City Grill makes in house would be amazing. I very highly recommend this restaurant for your next night...
Read moreMy boyfriend's family and I used to be regular customers of Windy city, but we won't be eating here ever again. Our last order of double dough pizza was made thin crust and we were given a complimentary pizza order for our inconvenience. When we placed our order today for another double dough pizza we were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for our pizza, which would be completely reasonable if that's how long it actually took. Even 30 - 40 minutes would have been okay if that's what we were told. Instead we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes from the time we ordered until we were given our pizza box. The people at the counter were rude and seemed to think it was funny that we were waiting for our pizza so long. When we got home we opened the box and drum roll please...the order was wrong! Surprise, surprise instead of double dough we had a flat, thin crust pizza...AGAIN! We called Windy City and explained what happened. The employee on the phone claimed that he was the one who personally made the pizza and said that it was a double dough pizza. We said no, double dough is our favorite and it does not look like that. Only when we became upset did the guy apologize and offer to make a new one, but he was still laughing. Terrible service! They lost a whole family of...
Read moreThis place has great dogs, great burgers, great sides, and great food all around. Service is always wonderful, food is hot. Very fast. Best community restaurant on its best days.
But this cheese on fries has to stop, especially for delivery. The fries are soaked in cheese that they've lost all texture and become just either soaked noodles in cheese or soggy fries underneath without cheese. Good thing they make them hot! Oh, wait... The fries being closed, covered in hot cheese in a container like this holds in all the condensation, which soaks back in creating a soggy fry goop. The container is soaked in condensation. Which would mean they were fresh. They got here piping hot! But already soaked through wet...
Please go back to separated cheese containers. I've had your fries MANY times, and it's always been top-notch, crisp, dippable, and good salt, not salty. Until this month. Hopefully, it's just a container supply shortage. You're the best restaurant in this town, I know you can get 5 stars.
Cheese fries rant over. Still, if you're in town, the best fresh burgers and dogs and more...
