Vino Volo — Restaurant in Romulus

I stopped at Vino Vollo on December 19, 2021. It is my usual go-to place for a good glass of wine and a small meal when I visit airports around the country. On this night, however, the "Seat Yourself" sign was up - so I sat down and waited for the bartender to come and greet me and talk to me about what I would have liked. He was speaking at length with a couple at the bar and continued to do so. Another couple was in the seating area and had received their drinks and one other person was also at the bar (so it was not busy at the time I stopped). The bartender did not attend to anyone else while I waited. After bout 20 minutes it did not look as if this young man was going to notice that I was there. I decided to find somewhere else to go, so I did. Later, at 9:00pm I walked by VV again. A couple was drinking in the seating area, and the young man was nowhere to be seen. I am not happy with this kind of service in what purports to be a somewhat "upscale" (by airport standards) and elegant place to stop to relax on a journey. POOR SERVICE I had a short layover in Detroit Airport and stopped by Vino Volo for a glass of wine.

I sat by the bar and got greeted by the bartender. Three other customers were seated at the bar. After the greeting several minutes went by, while he was sweeping the floor and chatting to the other server. Then he finally approached me but turned towards the customers that was there already, when I arrived and asked if they needed anything else. They needed to close out so the waiter started doing that. So I left thinking he was not interested in serving new...

Went to this wine bar at the airport for a glass to relax and a small snack. Sat at the bar and the server Chris was awesome. Dancing, playing great music, super happy and fun. Four more individual women joined me at the bar and Chris let us sample a few other wines. We all needed to leave to board our flights but no one wanted to leave. Great experience. Food was great too. I had the cheese plate and tomato basil soup. Now I'm extra happy and relaxed for my 20 hours of flying 😁. I'll most definitely be back and hope Chris...
