Abby's Legendary Pizza — Restaurant in Roseburg

I couldn't afford their pizza (more like WOULDN'T...on principle. Over $35 for a large (giant?) pizza * ...$9 for a personal 7" ..This goes against my law: No buying anything where the cost will make you sick while you eat it. $45 for one with shrimp.

So I ordered a Greek Salad, Garlic Knots with (awesome) marinara sauce and a soda with free refills. ~$9.60. The knots were fresh baked and delicious with the sauce. The salad was a welcome option from the typical house salad. Iceberg lettuce, red onions, artichokes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and (olives). Unfortunately they did not have a Greek dressing but the balsamic vinegar and olive oil sufficed when I shook the excess parmesan cheese and herbs from my knots basket. It was a nice sized salad but should have been served on a larger plate. I fed the "rabbit under the table" several times when I was cutting it with a bent knife. Atmosphere is pleasant. A local favorite and family-friendly atmosphere, great for celebrating after the game, a 10 year old's birthday party, or beer and wings after work. Abby's first opened its doors in Roseburg at Stephen's Street in the 70's and followed with Winston and Diamond Lake Blvd. Most anyone native to Douglas County would be familiar with them. They sponsor and serve pizzas by the slice at the Douglas County Fair, and the Music On the Half Shell as well as many other local events. My first job was at this Abby's. I still love the food. The pizza used to be a hit, it used to actually have a flavor! I don't know if Abby's got new chefs or what, but now the pizza is very greasy and all in all not made very well. When I went there a few years ago, this restaurant was my favorite. But it has gone downhill, and the most recent time I went there, my family members each only took a few bites and we left. I suggest you go somewhere else, such as Dominoes or something. The food is rather expensive at Abby's, but the employees aren't terrible. The service is a bit slow though, and not...
