Banh Mi Che Cali — Restaurant in Rosemead

Generally a great place to eat at (minus the increasing prices)...and the short manager trying to kill me.

I informed the waiter of my food allergy. I ordered no shrimp in a dish that normally comes with shrimp. I end up getting shrimp in my food. I tried complaining to the waiter to remake my dish, so they get the manager. The manager tries every way possible to convince me to take the food as-is. "It comes with shrimp." I tell her, "I ordered it without shrimp because I can die." "No extra charge." "I have a food allergy and cannot eat it." Good thing I'm the master at scherades. After motioning 3-4 times that eating it and vomiting = lawsuit, she gave up very furiously and ordered her staff to remake it right. It took longer than necessary. An American restaurant would immediately correct it because they know a lawsuit would cost them the business. I'm not going to scherades choking and falling on the dirty floor lol.

Keep your orders simple and straight forward from the menu, the staff don't want her being angry for the duration of their shift.

Also, the cups say eco-friendly but they aren't even made of #7 PLA plastic lolol. Such blatant false advertising. I see nothing eco-friendly about it. Edit: The drink cups have changed, and are smaller :(

They charge for water by packaging the water in boba cups, such a waste of nonrenewable natural resources and the planet. I brought my own thermos, they refused to fill it because management wants them to sell...

Came in to this location today to order a banh mi dac biet baguette ($3.75) and a cafe sua da ($2.75) the total was $6.81 with tax. Banh Mi Cali used to be more competitive considering the so-so taste and quality of their products. Due to their recent increases in prices throughout their So. Cal Location, I was not suprised about the high prices. I was surprised about the ice coffee taste changes and their from bad to worse services. Their coffee used to taste average and now it taste nothing like Vietnamese ice coffee. Its now tastes like the instant coffee without the caffeine jolts. G7 instant coffee from Trung Nguyen tastes much better in comparison. And as for the service it sucks. Waited in one line to order and when I was called to pickup my order from another location, I thought that I was going to get both the sandwich and the coffee at the same time, I was wrong. I told the cashier that took my order that I have not received the ice coffee yet and instead of getting it for me or asking someone else she said that I had to go to the dessert location to get. Im not surprised about the above average rating that Banh Mi Cali is getting since most of the reviewers are not Vietnamese. I can't pretend to know how delicious food from other cultures taste if I were not born or traveled or having experienced it throughout my life. BTW, if you have not figured it out yet,...

I went to this store 3 times(Sat, Sun, and picked up Tue)for my company’s party: the manage is so mean and rude, gave me attitude and yelled at me PAY ME PAY ME, by her Poor English only care about money and didn’t want to listen to me! I even wrote down my order nicely in the receipt about detailed items and pick up time 9:00am. I was here Tue 9:30am but NOTHING IS READY FOR ME! She never thought it’s her fault arguing why I’m here?! I had to waited for 1 hr to let them cooked/ prepared! She gave me another BAD ATTITUDE THAT REFUSED TO SEND ANYONE TO PUT THE 7 BIG/ HEAVY PARTY TRAYS IN MY CAR! I have pain and can’t use my both shoulders and I begged her to send anyone to help me again! I want to give her NEGATIVE 100 star!
