My recent visit to Apple Annie's left me utterly impressed, and I can confidently give it a flawless 5/5 rating. The entire experience, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left, was nothing short of exceptional.
As a breakfast aficionado, I was eager to sample their pancakes, and they exceeded all expectations. The pancakes were a delicate balance of light and flavorful, infused with a hint of vanilla that elevated each bite. Topped with real maple syrup and a pat of butter, they were a symphony of morning flavors that I won't soon forget.
However, Apple Annie's prowess goes beyond breakfast fare. Their array of baked goods is a testament to their culinary expertise. I treated myself to an assortment of pastries, and each one was a testament to the dedication they put into their craft. The croissants were delightfully flaky, and the cinnamon rolls were the epitome of indulgence.
Now, here's where the surprise came in. Venturing into unexpected territory, I ordered their meatloaf, and it was a revelation. Moist, well-seasoned, and comforting, the meatloaf showcased the versatility of the kitchen's skills.
The ambiance at Apple Annie's is as inviting as the food. The cozy decor and friendly staff created an atmosphere of warmth that made the dining experience even more delightful. It felt like being welcomed into a dear friend's home.
In conclusion, Apple Annie's has truly earned its spot as a top-notch dining destination. With their outstanding pancakes, delectable baked goods, and even their unexpectedly amazing meatloaf, I can't help but award them a solid 5/5. I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit to savor more of their delectable offerings and bask in the heartwarming ambiance. If you're looking for a remarkable culinary journey, I wholeheartedly recommend making Apple Annie's your next dining...
Read moreWe have been regulars at Apple Annie's Kitchen since moving to the Detroit area in 2022, and initially, it was a standout choice. The food was consistently good, and the soups were simply outstanding.
However, in recent visits, we've noticed a significant decline in both service and food quality. One of the most frustrating issues is something as simple as getting the correct number of eggs. When the menu clearly states three eggs, it's disappointing to receive only two—especially when it's happened not once, but three times, especially with poached eggs which are fairly simple to count. This isn’t a matter of personal preference but of accuracy and attention to detail.
Beyond that, the cooking quality has also become questionable. Basic dishes like sunny side up eggs are delivered as over easy, and poached eggs have arrived hard-boiled. After several attempts to address these mistakes, it's become clear that this is a recurring issue, and it's one that management needs to take seriously.
Apple Annie's used to be a go-to spot for breakfast and dinner, but something has changed. I believe the responsibility falls on management to get involved and resolve these issues before they get worse. It’s essential to lead by example—teach the kitchen staff the basics, ensure food quality, and be present on the floor to see firsthand if meals meet your own standards. Unfortunately, my wallet won’t be returning until these problems...
Read moreI had been going here for years with family, and my boyfriend. We went there recently and our server (who always looks under the influence) walked away before we were done ordering our drinks. She came back with our drinks and I told her we weren’t done yet. But as she set down our drinks and went back to grab lemons, both my boyfriend and I noticed how filthy her gloves were. I understand that it can get busy and you might not have time to change your gloves every table but come on we’re in the middle of a pandemic. So we walk talk to the hostess and she apologized and offered us carry out, but we declined. We sit in the car and think “just because the waitress wasn’t good doesn’t mean we can’t support the family owned restaurant we’ve loved for so long” so we go back in and ask the nice hostess for a new waitress. We’re seated, then the manager comes up to us and proceeds to tell us that the waitress has been with them for 12 years, and since we walked out of the restaurant, the waitress was “distressed” and we can no longer eat at the restaurant. Sorry, but if I’m going to spend $20-$30 on food then I don’t expect to be served by someone that’s filthy. To sum it up, we got kicked out because our waitress was mad that we were uncomfortable that she was unsanitary. In the last few years, the food had gone down hill but I still went there for the soup, but being treated poorly isn't something I...
