Unprofessional. Imagine walking into toys r us and seeing that there are no toys on the shelf. But before walking in, you had to pay to enter. That’s what this was like. Never have done painting with a twist before so I called up and asked if there was anything I needed to know about open studio painting with a twist. The employee named “Lamont” said no. I arrived to the studio in Roseville right on time and paid immediately without him telling us anything. We were confused but went along. Then he sat us down with our material and said the printer wasn’t working for the instructions. He said that he was going to “call his boss” and that he had never done open studio before. Red flag to not check the printer before customers come. We were not comfortable painting without the proper instructions so I said either refund or walk us step by step like in a class. Lamont seemed very apprehensive at the idea and even said he had to call his boss twice to “figure” it out. He kept trying to say this is what you signed up for even though I had asked if there was anything we needed to know about this prior to visiting. 1 hour later and he decided to walk us step by step. Total time 3.5 hours which is clearly unprofessional for a painting that said 2 hours. I get that he is a college student but so am I. And basic rules of a job- is being prepared, knowing policies, problem solving, and never admitting it’s your first time doing something. There was back and forth that seemed like I was arguing with a little kid. It should have been a direct conversation instead of an hour wasted haggling. I don’t understand why he didn’t refund us if it was such a hassle to him. The worst part is that he’s a senior art major and my painting turned out better than his. Mabye he was joking about the art major. I don’t know at this point due to the...
Read moreSet my child up for kids camp and was told on the last day that I would need to be present for the class due to my child struggling with keeping up with the art project. I spoke with the instructor on Thursday that stated she was concerned that my child could not keep up and was having a problem with listening. I informed her that my child had ADHD and could sometimes struggle and may need assistance. After I spoke to the instructor she seemed to be fine. I then received a call from the owner that evening stating that I would need to come to class in order for my child to finish her art class that Friday. I am a working parent and this class was presented as a fun camp for kids to learn to paint with a caring and experienced instructor that can work with children. Yes, I work from home but had to take meetings that day. The back room of the studio was offered. However at that point my child did not want to endure additional scrutiny. Slandering a child with a developmental disability to protect your business is sad. This experience went from a happy upbeat experience to one that ended in tears and disappointment. There were only two other kids in the class and if kids with ADHD are not welcome it should be stated on the flyer or leave a place to input this info on the registration form. If you have a child that requires extra help with art painting projects. I do not recommend this location for kids camp. It should be noted that the American's with Disabilities act requires reasonable accommodations when providing a service. The accommodations provided were not sufficient according to...
Read moreI took my mom & gma to the mothers day event and I was so disappointed. The room was crazy hot & cramped the entire time, several people complained but it never got better.
We were seated in the back & our table couldnt see what the instructor was painting because they only had one monitor instead of two unlike every other location that I’ve been to (and that monitor wasnt even working 🤦🏾♀️). This resulted in everyone at my table being frustrated because they didnt know what to do. The painter got frustrated too & walked out. Thankfully another one replaced her immediately after but I felt bad for the first painter because she tried her best with no monitors & several people complaining.
I’m also annoyed because even tho it was hotter than hell, another associate was policing the fridge area & demanded I pay for the water bottles now as im still in painting gear. My mom & the lady next to me asked me to get them water, thinking it was free. Mind you, the room is cramped so im bumping into people trying to grab my debit card out of my purse to pay NOW. They should have been offering those waters for free for such an unorganized event.
I’m giving them 2/5 because the associates were nice & the mimosas were tasty but everything else was bad. My mom & gma said that they were happy that I planned this event for them but I honestly felt embarassed to have brought them here. I hope they get it together!! I see the potential but right now, I wouldn’t recommend.
Also the weed smell that others mentioned is definitely present so if that bothers you, keep...
