Lunchtime is the right time! My first time at the Roseville location, we've visited the Howe Avenue location many times before. Roseville is significantly smaller, but it will do.

We arrived shortly after 11 a.m. just as lunch was starting, so there was no wait, and we had our choice of tables. When we visit for dinner, it's generally packed at any location with a wait less than thirty minutes.

Our server was fast, efficient, and readily happy to fulfill our desires at every request. He kept our table over flowing with food, our grill changed, and our drinks filled.

The food selections were fresh, as always is the case, and being veterans of the various locations, we sampled our regular selections. The food is very consistent.

They don't have the robot server, as does the Howe Avenue location, which is a novelty kids really enjoy. But we don't mind that. It's honestly a nuisance to try to remove your tray from the racks with the speed it expects you to, so I prefer a good old-fashioned server!

For those that haven't visited Blue House before, rules of engagement are as follows:

Your party is seated. All members of your party must order from the same All You Can Eat Selection. Menus A, B, or C, varying slightly in price and premium selections. I believe we generally all order A or B which is more than adequate in selections available. In the first round, your party is required to order 2 appetizers and 3 entrees. Every round thereafter, thru fairly well bend the rules as long as you are eating the food they are being and you can continue to order what you want when you want without limitation. You cook the raw (sometimes marinated) beef, chicken, pork belly, shrimp, octopus, etc., on your table's personal hibachi grill yourselves. There are accompaniments. Look for a small box on the menu that offers sauces and add-ons to cook with, i.e. Gosu, sliced garlic, sesame oil, bean paste, spicy pineapple sauce, etc., that make it more fun and flavorful. SUPER TIP - ASK FOR THE ANIMAL FAT TO GREASE YOUR GRILL.. the meats are EXTREMELY LEAN. They will stick to the brand new grills that are changed out several times during your visit without a little something to just give it a touch of slickery-slide.

Blue House is a great place to go with one friend or many. I don't know that I'd take a group of kids. There's going to be raw meat and a hot hot grill within reach of everyone at the table. BUT if you're looking to have an engaging dinner with others that keeps everyone engaged and off their phones, involved, participating, talking, and laughing, this chain is a great place to do it. Go hungry. No salad eaters or vegetarians will be really happy here.

I believe they also have an a la cart menu but we've NEVER ordered off of it. This is...

So I would like to start out with the acknowledgment that I’ve been too both the Sacramento and now Roseville locations, and I have to say this Roseville location was not nearly up to par with the Sacramento service. I’m unaware of this a franchise bussiness or not but when you dine at the Sacramento Blue House Korean BBQ, it won’t leave you wondering if it was worth the cost worth or extermly over price.

My boyfriend and I set out for a little celebration night, new doors opening and wanting a private and fun dining experience we found Blue House.

(As for mentioned I’ve dined at the Sac location and was awe by its ambiance and amazing staff.)

So finding out there was a closer location near by I was thrilled with excitement. As we arrived I could tell this was more of a restaurant then a fun ambient vibe dinning experience. But that wasn’t where the issue was. It really had to be the subpar service we received from our first waiter. Who did little to nothing to explain anything and rarely checking in with us.

The only service I can applaude is Cece. She took over as our orginal waiter when he went on lunch without even acknowledging the switch or doing any type of passover. But once CeCe was established she really did try to bring the service around. Maybe catching the displeasing feeling my partner and I were having. After Cece departed and our original waiter was back we knew it was pretty much time to go.

I will add and say this particular store has a call button for you to reach your waiter which the idea sound amazing but why did they have to choose the most loudest and obnoxious sound when calling for a waiter it brings the feeling of like the whole restaurants attention to you’re table.

So with all said if you would like to be having a delicious meal with your hard earned money, I suggest to go to sac and experience the fun...

We went here for my brothers birthday. Roughly around 6pm on 9/28/2024. The wait was not long, clean, good customer service up front. While dining here, there were a few problems, it looks like they were really short staffed of servers. We were waiting for about 15-20 minutes for a grill change each time and each round we ordered took another 15-20 minutes to be brought out to us. To the point where we were not hungry anymore. Our server although kind, was not attentive. I don’t blame him personally as I observed that he was overworked with so many tables to serve with limited assistance so I blame the manager for poor scheduling and team work! One individual , sadly I did not get his name, was kind enough to take our photos for us and we really appreciated him. The food was good but limited portions per round which sucks for larger parties and the wait did not make it any better. Additionally, there were random orders brought to our table that was never ordered and not the menu we chose, thankfully we did not get charged for them but we let the server know. We also order the cheese corn and there was hair in it. We did not end up eating it and it was just disgusting. Small details, we never received the additional scissors or rice paper ordered 3x this was communicated and that button to push for assistance does nothing that ring because nobody came to attend us at all. I left zero tip, we paid 190 and some change for mediocre service and food. We had high hopes for this place as we heard it was pretty decent but no, we would never suggest this to family friends or strangers! Better off...

This review is specific for lunch time. Went to Blue house twice so far. Both times for lunch. I like that I can get Korean food on my lunch break with coworkers. They have these HUGE lunch boxes for $13. Overall, from what I've tried, the food is very good! A little sweeter (especially the jjapchae noodles) though. Korean food isn't that sweet. Downside is the service! Last time we went it was a Friday lunch. It was more full with customers so maybe they were overwhelmed, I don't know. Our server forgot many things. Things we ordered, requested. Food was brought out and no utensils to eat it with....and one coworker didnt get his food until the end. We were there for way over an hour. They offer a small discount for employees at local businesses but if they want to attract workers, they have to speed up the service. My work is flexible if we go over by 10 or 15 min but last time we went over by 45 min!! Maybe next time I'll call in advance to place an order so the food is ready shortly after we arrive. *****UPDATE***** a few more tries so now I have to bump up another star (reluctant to give 5 stars because how sweet the food is but that's just me). Went for happy hour twice. Can't go wrong with %50 off appetizers. Once the owner came out and gave a strawberry soju and yakult (Korean yogurt drink) on the house. Our server suggested a splash of yakult in a shot of soju. O.M.G. think berries n' cream. It's incredible. The appetizer portions are huge and you get side dishes. Had so many leftovers to take home.
