I absolutely love the food here and the quality is consistently amazing. A star is lost because in the past year or so, something changed, maybe management or something? Customer service has gone down a bit. They've gotten a bit nit picky on charging for things.
For instance, I typically get the quesadillas, esp the ones on the seasonal specials list. They cost as much as a full meal, and I always bring guests and spend at least $25. They used to give me a handful chips upon request, and now I have pay for an appetizer size of chips. They say quesadillas are considered an appetizer, not a meal. They're larger than some meals and cost as much as the more expensive meals and more than many meals.
Before, I'd get a small portion of chips like they give with meals. Having to pay for the appetizer size, it's a waste, because I get way more chips than I need and it's not worth the price. They should at least give an option to make the quesadilla a meal or offer a reasonable price for a reasonable side portion of chips. Say $.50 or so for a literal handful of chips.
It seems like a short sighted, bean counter move. Seriously, how much money in chips are they losing to give a handful to customers who prefer the quesadillas over the rest of the menu? Seems to me it would cost more to lose loyal, regular customers. Although I love the food, I love the style of the food, and I can find it at places up the road at Rubio's and Costa Vida. Therefore, I frequent these other places a bit more than I used to, and go to Dos when I crave their irreplaceable menu.
It seems they've gotten the corporate bug called stepping over dollars to pick up cents. It's not good when it becomes noticeable to longstanding loyal customers. Maybe it's just me, but it rubs me the wrong way. Also, they seem more tightly staffed. They used to help with things such as packing up food in containers. Gone are the days. Little things like that.
If you want fresh food with locally sourced produce, an upscale fresh mex flavor at inexpensive prices, and an absolutely addictive, unbeatable salsa bar, than this is the place! However they prepare their meat,...
Read moreI normally love Dos but I was quite Frankly appalled but what I witnessed picking up an order on cinco de Mayo. As I was waiting for my food to get packed up I was noticing the kitchen staff as they were making the food. Everyone had a face mask on and gloves but one older gentleman that was a cook did not have any gloves on his hands. At first I was thinking okay maybe he’s just cooking the food and touching the pots and pans and nothing else. Unfortunately, as I continued to watch I saw him roll a burrito with his ungloved bare hands and packed the food. After that I went back to the front counter to speak with someone asking them with everything going on why he was the only worker wearing no gloves and he was handling food. Pandemic or not it just seems to be the right thing to do. I was informed that he didn’t want to wear the gloves 😳. To me that was not only irresponsible, unprofessional but also quite disgusting to think of. I guess the worker saw the look on my face and spoke to him in Spanish and he then Proceeded to go get gloves on. Firstly, where was the management in all this and why were they not saying anything to this worker or maybe they were the owners who knows. Secondly, more employees should have been speaking up and saying something especially with businesses being so affected you would think they would be taking precautions so that they’re able to not only stay open but to keep their customers coming in. Now knowing this I will be extremely reluctant to eat at this particular...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of this establishment for over 20 years, but what happened today was incredibly disappointing and unacceptable.
I placed an order and immediately called the store to request a specific salsa. I spoke directly to the manager while he was looking at the order confirmation—he literally received it while we were on the phone. The order hadn’t been made or picked up yet, so he had all the time in the world to accommodate a simple request. But he didn’t.
What really got under my skin was what happened next. When I called back after receiving the wrong salsa, I spoke to the same manager. He wasn’t apologetic, he didn’t offer any solution—instead, he lied. He claimed the order had already been picked up before he could make the change, which is 100% false. He also tried to shift the blame to DoorDash, telling me to call them as if it was their fault.
This kind of dishonesty and lack of accountability is unacceptable. A manager like that should not be representing your brand. After 20 years of being a loyal customer, this is how I get treated?
I’ve already called the corporate office to report this Manager employee and left a voicemail. I’m expecting a call back on...
