Went here for the 1st time w/a friend for lunch. After reading mixed reviews of both loved & disliked being about equal I decided to gather my own opinion. First I noticed how not busy it was for a mid week noon time lunch. As many other reviews stated the food came reasonably quickly after the order was placed. We sat at one of the tables which was in need of a wipe down as were the rest of the tables. There was a young boy who we're guessing is the son of one of the employees. He wasn't disruptive to anyone though unsupervised. Our food was just ok. Not much flavor and overcooked. The vegetables were mushy & not crunchy like most other places serve. The protien was overcooked (better than under because it was chicken) and mushy as well. The fried rice was just ok and the whole meal was not horribly expensive as it was right about $10 for the combination chop suey, spring roll, & a medium drink. I highly doubt I would return for another meal. Been there once. Wouldn't go there twice as first impression wasn't...
Read morestopped here on a whim. looking at the outside of the building, i wasn't expecting much, quite honestly my hopes weren't much elevated when we stepped inside. I would say the dinner prices were average for chinese restaurants and combined with what i saw so far meant to me i would be overpaying. But wow! how wrong i was! The serving was huge! unlike some of the other places that overload on rice and have a small amount of meat, D1 had plenty of both! the first thing i was truly stumped by was the chicken breading being so crisp yet still soaked in delicious general tso sauce! my daughter and i opened our dinners, steam rose up. To me that meant it was cooked to order and not sitting in some pot or under a heat lamp waiting to be sold, and certainly not microwaved! i wouldn't say i would drive 25+ miles each way for this place, but it would be my #1 when i am nearby.
give this place a try, i seriously believe you won't be...
Read moreI didn’t read any other reviews so I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned how dated this place looks. An old converted Pizza Hut. That’s it. An old converted Pizza Hut. I’m not sure one penny has been spent on the place since.
If I got this delivered to my house and never visited the store front, solid 5 star review all the way. Basic order, nothing fancy.
Chicken Lo Mien medium spice. I don’t wanna call em out, but kind of skimpy on the chicken. Come to think of it, skimpy on the cabbage & carrot as well.
Looked good, tasted good. Ratios a little off in my opinion, but delicious none the less.
I know not every family can afford to dump all the profits in to building, you have families to feed…. I get it. There are things that can be done with a can of paint, soap & water though guys. I’ve been in Detroit & seen nicer places with bullet proof glass, and a turn table to...
