This is from my Yelp review (3/15/18): I've visited here 3 times. My first two experiences were okay, but I think my 3rd visit today deserves a review. I've tried a couple AYCE sushi places around Sacramento and Placer county, even the Raku Sushi in West Sacramento. I've dealt with excellent service and quality fish as well as some poor service and okay sushi on not so great days. I wanted to laugh at all the bad reviews on here because I recalled my first two experiences as not that bad. My first two visits, I came during the lunch hours, the cheaper (but limited) option. I'm more of a fanatic for nigiri/sashimi (I've only visited one AYCE that offers sashimi as an option on their AYCE menu). Most places only offer nigiri, methinks because they don't have to give out as much fish and if people have to eat rice, it'll Ebe easier for them to get full and order less, which would save the restaurant on ingredients. (Their sushi contains more rice than fish, if that's what you fancy, and the rolls aren't that big either).
Third visit today, we were seated fairly quick, my sister, son, and fiancƩ accompanied me. We requested a vegetarian menu (because my sister's diet has changed over the past few months) and they were very attentive to her orders. My nigiri sushi also arrived in a timely manner (although they forgot 1 of my orders), but the sushi that my fiancƩ and I ordered, the volcano roll and the harbor roll, never arrived. The party of 6 next to arrived after we did, but their 6+ orders of sushi as well as nigiri were constantly arriving at a quick pace. I had to call attention to our female server several times because she completely ignored our table except to ask "Do you want to order anything else?" in the most rushed fashion and only stopping by when it is convenient for her. I understand working in a busy environment and how it feels to be stressed with so many orders and guests, but I have to say that their service was just extremely lacking. I work in customer service and I'm definitely not the best employee, but I at least have manners. When I waved my hand and asked, "Excuse me" to get her attention, she looked me in the eye and waved me off with those eyes, walking straight past my table, entirely ignoring me. We were sitting in a corner so it was even more difficult to get the attention of a server who ignores you. I would have been satisfied with "I'll be with you in a moment" or "your order is still coming," but nothing. I always try to order plenty the first time I have a server's attention because servers like this will rarely stop by your table again. All of my sister's rolls arrived in about 5-10 minute increments. The volcano roll took 35 minutes for them to bring us and a reminder. That was the only roll my fiancƩ ordered and it only came in 4 small pieces. I know deep fried rolls take a bit longer, but my sister and I were already finishing up our orders within that half hour. He was so disappointed that he didn't order anymore, which personally I think is a him problem, but the fact that you have service that ignores you and takes a long time, you might as well go somewhere that's worth waiting for. We can be quite patient; I have waited an hour for sushi at a restaurant without complications, and understandably so because it was a busy night. There's nothing redeeming about this restaurant if this is how they choose to run their business with customers.
TLDR: -Pros: Great pricing for lunch (less than $17 per person) Okay sushi
-Cons: Poor service~certain servers WILL ignore you ~certain servers WILL FORGET some of your order (this has happened in all 3 of my visits) ~dinner price is $21+ (not worth it, considering okay food and the cons)
This place is only great because it's the cheapest AYCE sushi you can find for lunch. Many places charge $20+ per person for dinner anyway so you're better off spending your money at a different one for quality, service, and options. If you don't care at all, definitely go here, but then again, why settle for such low tier...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my husband went a bunch of times to the Raku Sushi . Our first experience was super good . It was not in this location. Than we went a couple times in this location in Roseville and everything a server would get our orders etc and totally fine . Until one day that the server was just really bad and than the waiters looked at us and said something super mean I donāt remember right now but anyways . I continued to go there with other friends and even my cousin and even that this specific waitress treated us not so good I continue to tip her . The next time I went with my husband , service was bad and unfortunately I was not able to finished a vegetable tempura than this same lady looked at us to give our check that we waited for like 30 mim and gave us a look like : omg youāre not gonna eat this ? And than she took our plate away in a super rude way ! Tonight I went with my husband again even that he didnāt wanted because I liked some rolls for them and we did dinner . The same waitress talked with us and took some of our orders , all good . The food was not great and the temakis - hand rolls are just regular - anyways , we asked our bill and she looked at us , specially my husband and said : how was the service ? Than we said : good . Than she looked my husband and said: im asking because I never received anything. I looked shocked because in every time that I was at this place I always tip even when she was rude like tonight ! My husband didnāt understood what she said but he just walked away .
So all that being said , weāre not going to this shushi anymore .
1 because of this lady . 2 because the food is just okay and overpriced dinner ! 3 wee donāt want to go to a place to being treated like that .
I felts really bad because my husband said : I donāt want go there and I made him go because he knows I like some of the sushi but Roseville has tons of betters places , so by Raku .
Please , teach your employees to treated better your costumes....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here on a Saturday about 6:30 & was seated right away. The table was initially attended to by a very nice young woman who set up our table & gave us drinks. Though it was her 1st day & she was struggling a bit, she was very accommodating when the tea 1 of our party asked for was just lukewarm, she immediately brought some that was warmer. The rest of the servers were less responsive, perhaps because more customers began arriving & it took about 15 minutes to have someone come get our order. The menu consisted of many dishes including a la carte items, bento boxes & sushi. They had beer & soft drinks which were extra as were the desserts. They had all you can eat sushi for a set price. I think that this concept of all you can eat sushi is a good one, as it gives you a chance to try various types of sushi, even the more expensive types.if you asked for the all you can eat it included a veggie & salad bar that had pickled veggies & a seaweed salad among the various items. Some of of decided to get the all you can eat sushi & some bento boxes. The food was plentiful sushi, was varied, the flavors were decent, though a little under seasoned. All in all it was a good experience though I would return, it would be only...
