El Dorado Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Ross Township

The food was pretty good, I had a torta dinner but the bread was not toasted and it all kinda fell apart. The server made the experience not good. She was nice but not attentive and it was not busy at all, I think there were 6 tables or so. The server kept complimenting me for looking pretty and said I looked like a model. The problem is that my sister was there and I know she felt some way, she’s equally as pretty but the server just pointed me out. My sister didn’t say anything as she is not the jealous type but I know she felt like she is not worthy. Not only did she did it once but 3 times did she tell me I was pretty. I think my father saw my sister a little upset and told the server “That’s my other daughter” kinda telling her to try and say something nice about my sister too. All she said was “hello” and went right back to telling my family and I how pretty I looked. While I appreciate the compliments, I don’t appreciate how my sister might’ve felt. I think the server should compliment both or just not say anything. I’m sure she was just trying to be nice but it definitely ruined the vibe especially since my sister deals with body dysmorphia...

Excellent! A delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant decor and friendly staff made us feel right at home.

We started with their chips and salsa, and oh boy, it was a great way to kick things off! The salsa had just the right balance of spice and flavor, and the chips were super crispy. For our main dishes, We went with the Steak Quesadilla and Steak Fajitas. Both dishes did not disappoint. The steak was tender and packed with flavor, plus the grilled peppers and onions added a nice touch. The chihuahua cheese was perfect on the quesadilla as well.

What I really appreciated was how generous their portions were; I definitely left feeling full but not stuffed. The prices are reasonable too, which is always a bonus.

The owner was extremely nice and helpful. Next time I am there, I will order a margarita to complemented the meal. Overall, El Dorado Mexican Grill is a great spot for anyone craving authentic Mexican food in a warm atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to...

We had stopped at this restaurant a year ago after the same tennis tournament that we attended in Chicago. While driving back this year 2025 I was searching for a restaurant at the same exit because it’s Merriville and I knew they had a lot of restaurants and I just so happened to choose this restaurant again by happenstance And lo and behold. It was the same restaurant. What a great experience again and now I will be referring this restaurant to anyone in the Merriville area needing a good place to eat. They’ve got great lunch specials Monday through Friday. We were admiring the nine dollar price for I’m sure an amazing lunch. The quantity that you receive is excellent And I had the burrito grande with Carnitas and my spouse had the quesadilla con Carne Asada with one taco de Carnitas.
