Went here because it’s new to the neighborhood and we have nothing like it close by.
Love myself some bagels and lox. In fact, it’s my go to any time I find a great bagel deli type location.
I ordered the lox and my fiancé, the ham, egg and cheese bagel. First problem was they were out of 80% of the bagels. The only thing that was left at 11am was plain or garlic, It would be another 10 minutes before anything else was available; now this may be because they are new and just gotta get them into their rhythm but I find it hard to believe they’re sold out of everything at 11 AM which is a peak time for a Saturday or Sunday morning.
The lox bagel was lacking more lox. At other delis like bagel boys and Goldbergs you get a stack of lox, it was very shy, not even half the same I get at other bagel shops. I will say the mix of cream cheese and capers and onions was spot on, love that piece. My bagel was not toasted on both sides only the outside. And my bagel was a little crunchy meaning it fell apart when I open the sandwich the bagel broke in half, never had that before. I consider a really good bagel, when toasted , crunchy outside with a soft middle and this bagel did not have that.
Now as for the ham egg and cheese. When it came out the cheese wasn’t evenly melted. One side was the other cold. The ham look to me like something you get out of Kroger packaged meat and tasted like it too. The Bagel itself was huge stack high, but if you look at the photos, the egg was not cooked to order or fresh because there’s no way it could’ve gotten to us that fast. If you look at the egg, it’s in a perfect circle and it doesn’t look like a real egg almost like a processed egg. Maybe it’s fresh cooked earlier and sits and waits, but you could tell it was not freshly made to order.
The coffee was great. Loved the flavor I got the dark roast.
The seating area is tight inside, they have both inside and outside. But they need a vestibule in the front door because every time the door opened I got cold chill while trying to eat. People are coming in and going out every 15 seconds sending a cold air blast chill.
Service was great! Plenty of parking outside.
Would I go here again?...
Read moreService is always very friendly, and food is delicious! However, time management is terrible, hence the 3 stars. As I sit here writing this, there are NINE people waiting for their order, standing around thee store like zombies. I have been sitting here for 25 minutes already, and all I ordered was a single piece of avocado toast! 3 people are in front of me still, and many behind me. Last time I came, I literally waited 30 minutes for a half bagel w avocado and an iced coffee, and there was only one employee that day and 2 ppl in front of me. (Today there are two workers, but the lady in the back fixing food is moving so slow my 97 yr old grandmother could outpace her.) Luckily, I had a full hour and a half before my meeting, but I'm wasting that time sitting in this shop, regretting my purchase and vowing to never do this again, just like I did last time. I decided to try again to see if anything had improved, but it seems to be a pattern of slow as molasses service. It's really a shame, bc this place could be a real hidden gem. But most people don't have an extra hour to wait for their...
Read moreHad high hopes for this place and ended up with high disappointment, especially for the $37 price tag.
Ordered the 101 wrap, which per menu, is supposed to have turkey and avocado. I got a combination of turkey and ham with no avocado (see pictures).
Ordered a Turkey and bacon croissant for my 4-year old since they don’t have a kids menu. Specifically asked for no cheese or ranch since I knew he would not eat it with those things. Received the order with both Swiss cheese and ranch on top (see pictures). He did not eat it.
My husband’s TBC melt was decent.
I hate to leave a negative review but I also hate to spend close to $40 on lunch takeout and have it be completely incorrect. It was not like we had a ton of modifications to our order. It’s getting to the point where people have to open up their food immediately upon receiving it to see if it is correct; employees either don’t pay attention or even care at this point.
Will not even consider coming back unless this situation is rectified. Very...
