Crabapple Tavern — Restaurant in Roswell

To the owner, thank you for reaching out to ask where you "missed the mark and how can we improve?":

Atmosphere: It was somewhat loud inside and looked like the patio was reserved for a private party. We were seated inside by the kitchen hallway and restrooms with our 3 year old. We were away from the bar so I suppose this was a decent spot.

Service: Our drink order and drink arrival was quick. The waitress (#1) never mentioned her name though. She approached to take our order and I had to repeat myself, likely due to the noise level. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time, delivered by the food runner (#2). I said my child and I were sharing and asked for another plate; he brought a saucer . We flagged down another person (#3) who brought us a salad plate . By this time our drinks were half empty and not one of the staff having stopped by our table offered to refill them. Having one person take the order and service the table can resolve this communication issue and service failure. I kindly suggest a refill without asking policy when the food is brought.

Food: I finished my pot pie. It was delicious, but I wasn't aware of the mushrooms. The waitress didn't disclose mushrooms for the Special either.

Finishing: I stacked the pot pie dishes, salad plate and saucer, and a person (#4) came and removed them promptly. At this time, our remaining 2 plates are mostly clear and the waitress stopped by to ask about drink refills; ha, you're kidding me, right?

We usually have a great experience here but today was the worse! As the only African Americans in the restaurant at first time, I felt like our business washot valued and that we were ignored by our waiter. It took over 15 minutes for the server to come over to our table. I waited 20 minutes for a soup that never came but after complaining about our experience, the manager brings out the soup that he initially forgot but if course it was cold. I ordered the ahi tuna like I always do, medium rare but they overcooked it twice and put it on stale bread. The fries for our entire table were salty and overcooked but when I looked around everyone else in the restaurant had fresh fries. Our waiter didn't check on us at all until it was time to bring the check and never apologized for the experience. She came to tell me that my sandwich was removed from the check but I didn't come for free food. I just wanted a good experience and a good meal. We...

I used to love this place but this is the second time that my SILOS CHICKEN was too tough to eat and terrible basically. Someone in the kitchen has no idea how to tenderize chicken so when it happens twice in one month- they need to do better.

Half our families food came out 10 minutes after half the family was served. Not good Waiter ! The waiter picked up our plates when done and noticed I didn’t eat my silos chicken and didn’t ask if everything was ok with the food. As a former waitress myself…not good waiter!

The tortillas were STALE and it took 10+ minutes to get a new batch.

The sweet potato fries are now half the portions they used to be but always delicious. Fish tacos always delicious.
