Douceur De France - Bakery & Brunch — Restaurant in Roswell

Great Breakfast, first time ! The French Roast Coffee was on target. Hot and deep. Thought they should use h&h in pitcher, rather than mini moos ! We ordered 3 egg omelets wit varied additions. I opted for cheddar and bacon with a side o sliced tomatoes. It was yummy good and light & fluffy Accompanied by a huge corrosiant and jam and butter My spouse had cheddar, spinach and tomatoes omelet Good as well. Coffee refills were plentiful, served from thermal pot, however she didn't carry mini moos ! My wife inquired if she had some in her apron, she said no, but didn't say she would get some . After a few minutes she returned....The staff offered pastries, but didn't offer a menu.. or tray and invited my wife to look at case. Beautiful cakes, tortas, pies, eclairs and brulee! Luscious stuff ! Too much for my wife ! She checked out the many cases of Desserts !!!! All looked so good. Douceur de Franci is a Bakery, Brunch Place, Lunch Place and Early Dinner Place-and they do regular Take out abs they have refrigerated and frozen Too Go Items !! I saw a Shepherd's Pie, made with Lamb, quiche Lorraine, Beef Bourgeois and more ! Reasonable priced for the French Offerings ! Our neighbor table ordered her Mom a huge croissant with chicken salad to go Her Mom babysat her baby for the sandwich, instead of fast food! She herself had a chicken salad melt !! Her children are crepes with strawberries and bananas ! No filling, but they could have had nutella, chocolate or cheese. Looked yummy. We ordered 5 Beniets , dusted with sugar and cinnamon They were ok, but I would have preferred them warm and dusted with powder sugar instead, A little NOLA in Roswell !! Go and Eat Yummy in Tummy !! We took home a large Banana Bread, if I don't write back-up...

I'm giving 2 stars because only 2 items were actually pretty good I bought: 2 Beignets- they were not puffy, fell in the middle and what I thought was just a display was actually where she grabbed them...sad because I thought they would make them fresh...so they would be hot and puffy...

Lemon merengue tart- lemon was good, but the rest tasted old

Napoleon- AMAZING well done puff pastry (as it should be...nice and even toasty coloring)

Crème brûlée- was tasty underneath the top layer...the sugar was soft and blended with the custard so no nice "crack" and the top layer was much denser than the bottom so I'm not sure if they just skipped the water bath or if it was old and sitting out and just thickened and dried the top layer

Flan- we were so excited because they seemed to have made it the traditional way! However, we were severely disappointed when it was very thick and dry, almost like jello... We believe this was an old piece as well since even the crust tasted as such.

Rhum ball- the middle was very grainy in texture and not what we were expecting at all...nice rum flavor but needs more of a dark chocolate to balance out the flavor...would be nicer if smooth like ganache since thats as it was described to me

If you are going to charge $6 per item, it needs to be FRESH for that price.

As a pastry chef, it hurts me not to be able to give a bakery more stars, but this is what they've earned given my experience. I will be coming back in the future to try other items in hopes of better quality and...

we came in on Memorial Day, i have been many times to the Café in Marietta ,..... several times over the years, however we decided to try the Roswell café,... apparently we arrived 1hour before closing, .....that being said ,an hour should be good for un café & Dessert,... as much as i appreciate staff cleaning,..... furiously sweeping 🧹 while guests are dining and turning off the music kills the whole reason to go to "Douceur" ..... the Ambiance, Unfortunately something they have forgotten "AMBIANCE" , being from France, Paris- Port de Clichy,.... i understand paying 40$ for Café & Dessert, however i do that for the Ambiance! ... without the Ambiance, we are left with staff sweeping at our feet, listening to the waitress & supervisor talk about the dishwasher getting upset about "Late Plates" & making faces at her,.... then all of them trying to teach the young girl at the register how to close cheques & Z-out the machine, ...your Management should be running a tighter operation,... i Consult for many Companies Large & not so large , AMBIANCE is your Product,..... the idea that your guests can , for a short while, have Dessert & Café somewhere Elsewhere in the World, instead of an empty Diner room in Roswell..... les conseils je donne gratuitement, j’espère juste qu’ils ne tomberont pas dans l’oreille d’un...
