This is unfortunately an unsurprising incident for the Roswell area. It's a shame because our waitress, Terri, was truly phenomenal. The management however was so offensive to our children that several people in our party left crying.
Our very long visit (which entailed over 20 guests and hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of apps, dinner, drinks, and kids meals) consisted of a generally great time until we were wrapping up (paying bills, getting to-go containers, etc.) That was when we realized just how unwelcome we actually were.
When two (3 year-olds) of the TEN children that were part of our party starting laughing and running around our very large table while we settled bills, the manager walked over and let us know that it was time to leave because other guests were complaining. We were stunned by this because the place was quite packed with other groups, other children, other squeals, laughs and loud groups of friends, many of whom were getting along with us quite well. That's when I finally noticed 3 older white women sitting by the bar next to us glaring at our children, rolling their eyes and turning around in disgust.
After deciding to leave, as I walked by, one of the older white women said something aloud about our children being animals. I was so completely blown away by her audacity I told her that she should be ashamed of herself. She continued on and on about how she was a former teacher and that we as their parents should be ashamed and thank god we were leaving thanks to them. I was so angry I almost cried as I told her I hoped her life gave her better things to complain about than children.
It was then that the same Pure manager who asked us to leave came over and threatened to call the police on me. ME. I was floored. My brother in-law came over and told me it wasn't worth it so I left with him but I was utterly stunned at the treatment we received. It probably goes without saying (for those of you who KNOW this dynamic too well) but our party was a diverse group of friends and family, and all people of color. It was clear that assumptions were made about us, about the older white women at the bar, and about who was "right" and "wrong", regardless of what was said, how much money we spent, how kind we were to staff and how wonderfully behaved all of our children were.
I will NEVER return to this disgraceful establishment and I hope the management team of this chain offers their staff some sensitivity and tolerance training. As a business owner, I would NEVER stand for this kind of...
Read moreIm not usually a complaining person so im going to be as fair as possible in my critique. The first margarita was very heavy handed but the two following were very good. I believe that you should enjoy the flavor of the drink you get and not have the flavor over powered by ecsessive amounts of alcohol. That being said I understand some people like to get drunk in a hurry. I prefer a good tasting drink I can enjoy while im out and not get hammered so they got that right in the end. The food however was horrible. I had to ask for a refund and have it sent back. The taco carne asada was served very cold, rubbery and dry like it was sitting out for a long time before it was served. Food meant to be served hot and fresh is unacceptable served cold and stale especially when you are supposed to be in a quality reasturaunt with a good reputation. The server was very nice and understanding that we had at our group table and did a good job so I wont slam her because its not her fault. I got a refund on the meal so I guess it washed out. The service in general however was sub par in my opinion. As I understand it when you are with a party, peoples orders should by processed so that people are eating at around the same time and not waiting forever to get food. Again the food should be served fresh and at the proper temperature. Its akward when some people are waiting to eat while others allready are. Valet parking not a good idea in a parking lot as small as this one as it is completely unnecessary, However the valet showed some real hustle and was polite. Probably not a great idea to prep uncooked fish in the open kitchen part of the restaurant as it was off putting and stunk really bad at times which can ruin an appetite quick. I would try PURE one more time just never at the one in Roswell again. Im giving this rating because of the refund, the good server and the valet with hustle in his step. I hope this is helpful to the staff and future patrons. I understand any place can have a bad night but this was not a good first...
Read moreI decided to give our server, Alejandro F, a dollar tip even though our bill was close to $30. Reason being, his subpar service he provided to us during our visit today. As usual, Pure's food was great! No complaints there. Alejandro (name printed on the receipt) is a petite guy with long brown hair worn in pony-tail fashion. Issue #1 - Alejandro was not as friendly as the other servers, instead he was flat, no enthusiasm displayed when making food or drink suggestions. I inquired about the type of margaritas and the flavors they offer. He stated Pure doesn't offer flavored margaritas, but they have strawberry margarita and blackberry one that he likes. Hmmm, I believe strawberry and blackberry are "flavors". Definitely, not plain. Issue #2 - all the tables around us were served chips and salsa shortly after being seated. We never received or were offered the chips and salsa. I asked Alejandro is there a reason we did not get the chips and salsa. He said that you have to ask for them. Pure use to give them out automatically, but now you have to ask for them. In response, I said ok and he left our table. I would have respected Alejandro more if he would have said it was an oversight and just apologized for the error, instead of telling the lie. We were practically finished with our meal, so we would have declined the salsa and chips. Also, the tables all around us DID NOT request chips and salsa, they were automatically delivered to each table. So, I decided that the service warranted a $1 tip and this was because another guy brought the sour cream upon request. Basically, I was tipping the other guy on $1.59 sour cream...
