Very good breakfast but not as good as I’d hoped. We had a late breakfast today and I wanted to try this place based on the great reviews. I will start with the positives. We were seated immediately and our server was extraordinarily prompt, thorough and friendly. My wife had the Kiss My Grits platter and really loved it. I had the pancake plate with scrambled eggs and bacon - it was divine. On the negative side - the restaurant doesn’t seem super clean. I think they do the basics but the bathroom walls were dirty, there were a few napkins on the restaurant floor and I stepped on crayons under the table when I sat down. I also noticed they use cracked/chipped coffee mugs to hold the creamer and butter. Why? They also didn’t clean the coffee maker well before they made the tea. It wasn’t awful but that bitter taste was definitely present in what otherwise would have been excellent tea. Let’s talk about the multigrain biscuit. I’m not sure who came up with this culinary Frankenbakery nonsense but it needs to go and what’s worse is that it’s the only biscuit they offer. It’s dry, bland and makes me sad that people actually make it from scratch. I will definitely be back now that I know what to avoid and hope they were just have an off day with the cleaning.

I had to edit my review to include a server AJ who recently offered the best service I have EVER received at Thumbs Up. AJ, thank you for making our recent experience soo special, I needed to add a sentence or two! Keep in mind, the manager Jennifer is a rock star and you can tell that she runs that business like a well oiled machine! Her staff seems to actually like their job and the work ethic of the team makes it unbelievable that many of them are high school and college students. If only every person young and old could learn the value of service! Honestly, I love a good meal but I am more impressed when service and the meal go together like lyrics and music! Every opportunity I can get to visit this restaurant NEVER disappoints. I am such a fan of breakfast food and this place is not called 'Thumbs Up' for NOTHING!! Fresh food. Well prepared. Portion sizes are perfect. The kind of meal you look forward to and having a guilt free moment to go with it. I had the southwest omelet I think... .even the salsa was fresh! Yummy! The service was great also and everyone pitched in to make the experience even better. Love!!!

I like the food that I have tried there but the customer service needs work. I’m new to using Door Dash and placed an order. Saw that it was going to go to my home address so I immediately canceled the order and placed a new order for my work address. Since I was ordering the same exact thing, I chose to get Door Dash credits instead of a refund because I did want the food. The Door Dash driver arrived here and was told that the order was canceled so he called me. I told him to let me speak to them so I could explain that another order was placed. Spoke to a female manager who said that they never received a second order from DD and they are not going to make the food. (I received an e-mail and txt confirmation from DD that the restaurant has received the second order and was preparing the food). She was very rude and nasty, talking over me and mid sentence, hands the phone back to the DD driver. Chatted with and even called DD who refused to refund my money even tho I never received the food. Ended up having to call my bank about it because DD placed a hold on my bank account for the first order. After this experience, I’m not using DD or ordering from here again how I was talked to by the manager.

After coming across other Reviewer's posts, I wanted to try this place. It did not disappoint. It's the closest "diner" to me, and I will be back. The house soup special of the day was a creamy lemon chicken, and it was delicious. If you're a favorite of chicken lemon orzo soup, you should try it. I had the fried fish with grits, multigrain biscuit, and poached eggs. Fried fish was seasoned well and came out crispy... might be one of the best fried catfish I've had recently. The grits are the coarser thicker grits, and it was creamy and yummy. Never had a multigrain biscuit, and it didn't disappoint! The prices were also more than fair if you're on a budget. My fiance had the Edgewood Beef, and the potatoes were amazing (ask for crispier potatoes!). Wish I took a photo of that plate, it was huge. We were just so hungry 😆 The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to come back! I give it a "Thumbs Up!"

Upon entering, the place was bustling with action. Good music was going, and the vibes were high. My server was friendly and helpful. The food tasted good. I got a pancake and the Skillet Heap option. I added veggies and bacon to it. The toast was fresh and everything tasted appealing. This is the kind of place where you have to order the food the way you like it. If you are someone that likes spicy food, you want to have them add things to your food that livens it up and bring condiments. Season to your taste buds. It has a nice retro diner atmosphere but is still up to date. Overall, I think it was a good experience. I will enjoy trying other menu choices next time. Parking is a little bit crowded right around the restaurant. However, it is in a plaza, so you should be able to find a space.
