Came to Fellows for breakfast//brunch today and it was so cute!
Food: For our appetizer, we ordered the Sourdough Cinnamon Roll and it was absolutely delicious. Also, for the price, the size of it was incredibly generous. It is more than enough to share between two people- I couldn't even finish my half because I was full!
For my main dish, I got the Huevos Rancheros and it was awesome. I like that their portion sizes are also not too big so it felt like the perfect amount of food and I didn't feel like I was overeating. The corn tostada in it was a wonderful addition to the texture of this dish. The consistency is a little watery because of the tomatoes, water from the beans, and egg yolks mixing, but the flavor was still great. My friend got The Ususal and I tried a couple bites. From The Usual, I especially loved the roasted sweet potatoes!
Drinks: I originally ordered the Iced White Peach Matcha Latte, but after a few sips I realized that it wasn't for me. I didn't taste much flavor in it at all and so I didn't really drink it. I ended up ordering the Miel Latte as well and our server noticed that I had barely touched my Matcha Latte and asked me whether or not I liked it. I was honest with her and told her I wasn't a big fan, and she ended up taking it off of the bill which was so kind of her to do. On the other hand, the Miel Latte was absolutely to die for. The presentation of it is also lovely and the toffee/honey-comb that you toss in melts into your drink and adds the most pleasant flavors.
Service: The service at Fellows is phenomenal. Our server was extremely attentive without being overbearing. Like I mentioned before, she also made sure that we were enjoying our experience (i.e. when she asked me about the drink that I had barely touched) and I really appreciated this. I was so impressed by her!
Atmosphere: My friend and I said in the outdoor garden and it was so adorable. We had a few instances where there was a bee hovering around us but it's expected that there will be bugs any time you sit outside. This didn't take away from the experience at all. The garden area is very cute and I'm really happy that we chose to sit out there! It also is pretty quiet outside so it's very easy to hear the person you're sitting with, but each table is far enough away from the other so that you can't hear conversations at other tables.
TLDR: Amazing food with phenomenal service and very cute outdoor seating! I...
Read moreTHIS. This is the place I've been searching for. These are the types of establishments I yearn for, delight in, and seek out. I visited with my husband yesterday for the first time. I'd recently heard of Fellows, but knew nothing much about it, knew it was a Sunday morning downtown Roswell, like 12:30, and figured we would not get in. It was definitely busy, but comfortably so- it didn't feel overcrowded or too loud, and the hostess was just lovely, as was our server, Sydney. The atmosphere was unpretentious- which is SO refreshing- and the price point is accessible and I think really good. I love the menu- it's perfectly concise- varied but not too big, which is so great for me and my adhd brain, lol. Everything was exactly what I wanted it to be. It truly made me so happy.
Honestly, I'm socially exhausted with trying new things that so often end up being disappointing. Fellows is my favorite after on visit. The gorgeous historic home is so beautiful, including the structural adjustments made inside- they maintained the charm and historic integrity so so well! Like I can't get over how much I adore this place. It is so warm and peaceful. I've checked out the website and read everything I found about the place, and I'm even more impressed. Thank you for coming to Roswell, you've hooked me for sure.
P.s. I've also got to say: I'm a huge charcuterie-style eater. It's my favorite style of eating and how I do a lot of my meals. Over the past decade or so, they seem to have gotten so popular at restaurants, and I almost never order them. The majority of times I do, they are so offensively overpriced for a pitiful offering, that is absolutely not share-friendly as usually is advertised. The Fellows Board was fantastic, and so dang worth it. Really nicely presented, full of delicious things, and plenty to share with another person. I was dancing in my seat. The salmon cake, it seemed like it would be dry, but it wasn't! It was so good!! We didn't get the pears, chorizo, or brie on ours (maybe ran out?), and I think an additional olive/pickle spike would be killer, but those aren't even complaints, in any way, whatsoever. I'm already craving it again.
Oh and the sourdough, and the pumpkin...
Read moreWhile trying to gently inch my way back into the world I started visiting the local farmers market in Roswell. I have been dreaming of visiting Fellow Cafe since checking them out online. I was delighted to find they had a stand at the market. I purchased a loaf of their sourdough bread. Since I was at the farmers market I purchased fresh tomatoes to compliment the bread. I got home and made a classic tomato sandwich. I was overwhelmed by the treasure I had found. The bread is beyond exceptional! The texture and flavor of this loaf are on point! Once I had finished the loaf I was counting the days to the next market so that I could get another loaf. When I got home with the new loaf I realized it was not exactly as I remembered the first loaf. It appeared that it had stayed just a bit too long in the cast iron skillet it was baked in and the bottom was too tough for me to fully enjoy. It was hard for me to do but I went back to the market and asked if I could exchange it for another loaf. Unfortunately for me they were sold out. MK(who I think is the manager) handled my feedback with such grace. She offered to give me a refund but I explained that because of last weeks loaf I planned to be a customer for life and was not looking for my money back. She offered to give me a call during the week when she spotted the perfect loaf and I could come up get it. Sure as she had offered, later in the week I received a text from MK saying she had what she thought would be the perfect loaf for me and I could come up and get it. I haven't even had a chance to dine in the Cafe but if the rest of the menu is as good as that loaf of bread you can't go wrong with this local treasure. And with such top notch care and concern for the customer experience they have gained my deepest respect along with my loyalty. If you live in Roswell please help support this darling treasure. With so many small business losing the fight right now it would be a shame to lose this one too. They offer curb side pick up for all their delights. Thank you Fellows Cafe for being a shining example of good food and stellar...
