My family and I tried Roswell Restaurant Week this year, and we came to Table & Main last Saturday evening. Rachel greeted us warmly and was serving us so attentively. We had so many great conversations, and my family and I all enjoyed her service and company a lot. My wife and I tried the restaurant week menu, which was apparently offered also every Monday (so we can always come back for it!). We had winter caesar salad/shrimp 'n grits/banana foster pudding, as well as hogs 'n quilts/fried chicken/ice cream. Very impressed by the appetizers to start with, especially the salad, with nice harmony among the ingredients. The caesar salad dressing with kale turned out to be very nice combination, and the custardy farm egg was a great plus. The bbq pork in hogs 'n quilts was perfect. I was especially impressed by the soft, chive crepe wrapping the pork, keeping the meat moist and tender, and adding flavors overall. It reminded me of a kind of Taiwanese egg crepe I loved so much since my childhood (we mostly used scallion). My wife was very pleased by the shrimp 'n grits she had. The gravy reminded her of bbq type of sauce. I didn't get to try the shrimp 'n grits because I was so occupied by the huge, 2-piece fried chicken I had. The outside was so crispy, and the meat was extremely juicy. The chicken would have been perfect if the outside more perfectly coated the whole chicken (the breast piece had a bit dry portion). I very much enjoyed the fried chicken with the collard greens. Unfortunately I had a big lunch so I could only finish a piece of the fried chicken. However, the next day we heated up the fried chicken carefully with oven, and it was still so crispy and juicy. My two daughters went with the kids menu and were very impressed by the food. My older daughter later left a message on the "check book" for Rachel, stating that it was one of the yummiest meals she had ever had. My younger daughter finished her meal so quickly and easily, and definitely showed a great approval of the food. Even my kids claimed that the orange juice they had was very delicious. I myself actually also "sensed" that the water offered at T&M was quite nice and I enjoyed it. I would also like to mention that, we were served and attended by three more staffs that night. All approaching us warmly. I forgot to ask for his name, but a gentle man handed me a bottle of pepper vinegar which I added to my fried chicken. Marvelous, and thank you! The dessert made a nice ending of the meal. With the "help" from my kids, we finished the dessert in no time. The pudding was so smooth and flavorful. For the ice cream I especially liked the nice combination with crushed nuts (?). It was really a nice experience at T&M, and we will definitely come back for their regular and seasonal menu!

With receiving the 2024 Michelin Bib Gourmand, I was particularly excited to experience Table & Main during my visit back home over the holidays. Although the experience was nice, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed with my meal here. Pros: - There was thoughtful attentiveness to members of our party with allergies: gluten & dairy free. - The restaurant is incredibly charming and sweet, set in an historic southern home. - Appetizer: Fancy Cornbread Bites & Honey Butter - amazing! - Appetizer: Hogs ‘n Quilts - super delicious! - Appetizer: Cornbread Panzella Salad- fun & different! - Main: Fried Chicken- highly celebrated by the members of our party who ate it. - Dessert: Sorbet - tasty! Mids: - Cocktails were decent. With a more elevated cocktail menu, this element of the dining experience could really sing. - Main: Market Fish- Stripped Bass, was okay. It felt like this dish was missing a sauce or final component to bring it all together. - In general, our server was experienced and helpful. At the start of our meal, she felt a bit curt and uninviting but became a bit warmer throughout our time. Cons: - We were sat at a large table in an area of the restaurant abutting the kitchen and doors leading outside. This caused constant commotion all around our table for the duration of our meal. It was quite cold for my Mom who sat closest to the door. This could easily be fixed by hanging curtains. And, I wished there was some sort of barrier between our table and the kitchen doors. - Lighting felt overly bright. I desired for the environment to feel more cozy. - My partner ordered a side of mashed potatoes. When his main dish was served, they gave him mac & cheese instead. Even when he pointed this out, the waiter never corrected this mistake. - When dessert was served to half of our party, we had no utensils. We waited a while but no one brought spoons or anything. So, I ended up grabbing rolled up forks in napkins sitting nearby. Then halfway through their dessert, our waiter returned to take dessert orders for the other half of our party. I think this restaurant does a lovely job of capturing southern charm & classic southern dishes. With a few tweaks, I would love to come back and experience it again. Overall, our party of 6 rated the restaurant a 6.5/10.

What a delightful dinner at Table & Main for Restaurant Week 2020. I arrived about 5:30, 30 minutes after they opened, and left my car with the valet. I didn’t have a reservation, but the the front room, bar and porch are all first-come-first-serve, and I had no difficulty being seated immediately in the cozy front room. I started off with a smoked ice old fashioned which was well mixed and quite potent. Cheese straws were brought to the table and they had good flavor with a wee bit of a kick. The Restaurant Week menu was 3-Courses for $25 and I chose: • She crab soup- this was a large bowl of very rich soup with pieces of celery, onion, and crab and a bit of spice. It was very tasty and quite filling. • Fried chicken with a choice of side - the chicken portion was generous, as it was half a large chicken sans the wing. And seriously, after the filling soup I hardly made it through the drumstick...leftovers! For my side I chose one of the daily specials, honey roasted carrots with chimichurri sauce. The carrots were wonderful, but I didn’t care for the cold chimichurri sauce, so I just scraped it off. The carrots were a large portion too, so most went home as leftovers. •Chocolate pudding - this dark, rich, cocoa like pudding was served in a small glass canning jar with a small dollop of whipped cream and a vanilla wafers. It was just the right amount and the perfect ending to a truly delightful meal. Cute little gimmick that they do, they present the check in a book that has something to do with Georgia, and you can write a note or your name in the book. The service was friendly, and well timed. All around an enjoyable dining experience.

We had a party of 4 on a Saturday night around 7:00. They said there was a 25 minute wait, so we chilled by the little bar. It ended up being much less than 25 minutes though! They gave us cheese straws, which were good. We started with Cornbread Muffins with honey butter ($9) and Charleston She-Crab Soup ($12). Both were delicious, however the muffins were very overpriced. For entrees, we got the Burger ($15), Rabbit & Dumplin’ ($26), Fried Chicken with choice of side (we chose Brussels Sprouts) ($21), the Swordfish Special ($35), and a side of Mac ‘N Cheese for the table ($6). The Burger was very good, and the fries were nice and crunchy. My friend said the Rabbit & Dumplin’ was okay, but every other dish she’s had at Table & Main was better than that. The Fried Chicken was fried perfectly. The Brussels Sprouts were cooked wonderfully, with the perfect amount of oil and spice. My friend thought the Swordfish was amazing and highly recommended it. The service was great. Food came out in a good amount of time. They were attentive with refilling our drinks. The reason for the 4 stars is because the food was very good, but it wasn’t the best we’ve ever had. Also, I know that appetizers are generally overpriced, but I still can’t get over how expensive the Cornbread Muffins were. At $1 per teeny tiny muffin, that’s ridiculous. If they lowered the price for the Cornbread Muffins to $5, I would consider raising to 5 stars. Overall, I definitely recommend Table & Main and I’m sure we’ll be back, especially since it’s in walking distance from Variant Brewing.
