I lived in Roswell right after college, so I KNEW we were heading to the Fickle Pickle (and buying the t-shirt) on this trip. This is the place where I learned that I liked fried green tomatoes AND fried pickles. Not exactly the best way to prepare food, I know, but OMG, so good. Son ordered the Brie BLT, and while he said it was good, he expected it to be more "melty." Husband had the Cuban Creole and loved it. I got the Fried Green Tomato (asked for no onions; still got onions and no arugula). SO good. Kind of packed seating area during the holidays, and it was chilly (for us Floridians at least), so it is weird to stalk tables inside in hopes that someone is getting up soon. But we noticed that even if people sat down immediately after customers left, staff jumped in to disinfect the tables - they're definitely following Covid protocols here. Highly recommend - some of the food items sound really bizarre, I know, especially if you're not accustomed to everything being deep fried like a lot of the foods you get in the deep south. But ohhh man, so good.

Great sandwich shop with excellent food and nice charm in the middle of downtown Roswell. I have wanted to try this place for a while but it’s always so busy I keep avoiding it. I now see why people like it so much! They have a small but diverse menu with hot and cold sandwiches plus soups and salads. I had the smoked turkey sandwich and it was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the combination of bread and topping was done perfectly. We sat outside and enjoyed the first days of fall while people watching which is the perfect Canton Street activity. I will definitely be back to try other selections. Even though it was busy today as well I was pleased at how quickly we got through the line and even more pleased with how quickly we got our food.

I wanted to like this place, sincerely. Images looked amazing and other reviews looked promising. However, even a week later writing this review, I can still 'taste' the salt from the deep-fried food. Let's start with the good: fried pickles were very good! Atmosphere is quaint and the people very sociable. Honestly, we even saw friends when visiting! However, the food left us feeling a lack - chicken patty marginally thin and the amount of salt, overwhelming. Wife had the chicken avocado sandwich with fries and even that came away lackluster ("the French fries seemed frozen, like Burger King"). Not sure we will come back, but wanted to give an honest review.

I had the WORST experience here today (8/3/23). I, along with my coworkers, decided to have lunch here. Our party was separated because of parking issues. That’s not a big deal. Myself and another colleague ordered first. There was another party behind us. Then the rest of our party (4 others) ordered. The group of four at our table got their food first. We probably waited another five minutes and the counter person asked if we had gotten our food yet. We said, “No.” and she checked on our order. The food came relatively quickly after that. I was a little annoyed but not disappointed. They were busy and I assumed maybe someone was running behind. Next, the manager comes to the table and says, “The reason your food was delayed was because there was a problem with our internet. The ticket didn’t go to the back so I’ll need you to pay.” I was like, “I already paid.” I actually did go through the transaction, tipped, and (of all times) selected, “No receipt.” Meanwhile, he is not saying anything to the other person from my party who had their order on our table number as well. Why not ask if she paid? I reached for my phone to check my bank account to prove that I paid but as I reached for it, the manager just left and said, “Forget about it. It’s on me.” I could tell he was upset, though. Needless to say, I continued to check my account and there was the charge for my lunch. I took my phone up to the counter and he was like, “It says “pending”. You’ll see tomorrow that will be gone.” I was like my account also has “pending” for Kroger and another restaurant but whatever. I was a bit annoyed and felt like a criminal but I sat back down. A few minutes later, the manager came back to the table and said, “Are you “… …?” I was like, “Yes.” He was like, “I apologize. It did go through. They said you didn’t pay.” I was a bit dumbfounded. I didn’t know what to say. By the time I got home, I was even more angry and confused. So… My order was delayed by several minutes. You accused me of not paying. I prove I paid but you doubt me. You apologized but offered no compensation for everything I went through. Although the food was good, I won’t...

Went for a bridal luncheon this past Friday. They don't take reservations, so myself and another member of our party put in our names. We were rudely told multiple times we couldn't be seated until the whole party had arrived. Not a problem, but no need to be ugly about it. Woman was very impatient and rude when asking for the number of members in our party and when asking whether we'd like to be seated indoors or outdoors (in a tent with no heater, no thanks). Once we got to the counter to order, the cashier was extremely rude. We had been told the number for our table, but didn't know what room number our table was in. Apparently that was a problem. We pointed to the room, not knowing the room number, and apparently that wasn't sufficient. She was very snippy when asking "so it's in room three?"...um, if the only room to your left that we pointed to is room 3, then yes. She continued to be rude and snippy to the whole party while ordering. The food came out in a timely manner and was said to be good (I only got a Cobb salad), but the overall experience and staff was quite the opposite. I will not be returning and will be sure to share my experience...

I wanna love this place, really. I'm going to be in the minority here, but honestly, I don't think it's that great. I know lots of people love this place, but when I went back recently, it wasn't the place I remembered from awhile back.

This place is super quaint, running out of an old, historic house. It's very popular for lunch as the line and the small, gravel lot fills up shortly after they open at 11. If you drive into the lot and find it full, good luck backing out. It's tight. In case you miss the signs, there's additional parking at Osteria Mattone.

I was pretty excited about the cuban thinking ... a place with pickle in the name serving a sandwich that has good pickle presence ... should be legit. It was good, decent. The creole thing gave it a nice punch. It's just not a cuban. Not on the right bread, not the right kind of pork, etc. The coleslaw I ordered was less like salad and more like soup.

Tuna melt was good but again nothing epic. Potato salad definitely not my favorite. Now, I will say those fried pickles breaded in cornmeal and deep-fried are worth coming...
