This used to be known to my wife and I as the "good McDonald's," but it has now lost that title. Today I placed an online order for two hamburgers and a large order of fries. I order at 1:51 PM and arrive at this McDonald's at 1:58 PM. No one answered the drive thru speaker for either lane for five minutes; other cars drove off while I waited. I eventually pulled around to the cashier window and told them my order code, and then they tried to hand me someone else's credit card (I declined.)
At the next window they try to hand me two waters, which I also declined, and then I tell them it's just two hamburgers and a large fry.
Panic, or something close to it, ensued inside the building. It turns out they gave my food to the car in front of me. This has happened before and usually it is corrected immediately, and before other orders are served, but this time I was asked to wait in a parking spot... I had a bad feeling.
Ten minutes pass, and I decide to go inside. I assume that since my order was given to a car it no longer showed up in their queue and they had forgotten me. It was worse, they were ignoring me; I stood at the counter for at least five minutes waiting for acknowledgement. After five minutes of them pointedly not looking in my direction , I left the building and got in my car.
My plan was to then get in the drive-thru and then park at the window until I had received my order. Sadly, the drive-thru moved at a pace that would make a glacier impatient. After more than thirty minutes on the property I gave up. I tried to warn the other customers in line waiting to order of the shambolic mess awaiting them, but all I got were looks usually reserved for those wearing "the end is nigh" sandwich boards.
Now my choices for McDonald's near me are "mediocre" and "shambolic," maybe I'll just eat...
Read moreUsually, a McDonald's is a McDonald's. This location, however, i have had more than one issue with, but never serious enough to review. the latest one here isn't serious either, but it's so silly I had to mention it.
After boxing with the order app for a minute to try to order a couple of Happy meals and some nuggets, and adding to mobile order the whole time, I get to the drive-thru, and I'm told that I have to come inside. Apparently they can't just hand the order to the drive-through window, even though food is prepared directly next to the drive-through worker. I'm not sure if this is the height of laziness or just way too rigid reliance on procedure, but the effect is the same. It's silly. I'm not sure if this is a store wide policy, or just this location, but i had to share.
Specific to this location tho: ice machines that are completely out, completely ignored by staff until my order came, and hearing a staff member scream profanity, more than loudly enough to be heard by the child that was standing right next to me. nothing overly vulgar, still not polite conversation language. and definitely a word that most people don't want their 7-year-old hearing or repeating.
edit: Even the food isn't the standard fare you expect. All of our fries, four orders worth, we're soggy. The fries are one of the only reason to really go to McDonald's, as horrible as they are for you, they have a unique texture and flavor that makes it worth it to treat yourself with it once in a while. Soggy fries is inexcusable and unforgivable.
If you must do fast food, my go-to advice is generally avoid McDonald's anyway. Doubly so for...
Read moreThe store manager - FRASIER - of MCDONALD'S 2950 HOLCOMB BRIDGE ROAD 30022 across from Pike Nursery would rather call the police on a customer than take their order and take their $. On Monday 6/12/2023 time 2:45 - 3pm, I went to drive through and waited but no one came to speaker. I said "Hello" 3 times, with no response. I thought the speakers were torn up, so I pulled to the drive through window. I was the only person at the drive through speakers and the store was not busy. I was polite, but the teenager on duty in the first window chastized me for not waiting "long enough" and refused to take my order. He said I would have to pull back around to the drive through and wait, come inside, or order through the app. I asked to see the manager and turns out HE is the store manager! He said his name is FRASIER. FRASIER told me if I didn't move out of the line he would call the police and have me removed. FRASIER said he didn't care if I wrote his name down and he didn't care if I called the corporate headquarters. "They get so many calls for this very issue and they don't care." Wow. What a great store manager you are, FRASIER. I called anyway and wrote to the CEO at corporate headquarters. All the time FRASIER and I were conversing, he looked at me with contempt and disgust, as if I were a bug that needed to be stepped on. I have forever lost my appetite for McDonald's. It is unfair to lump all McDonald's together based on this one, however, for the rest of my life, McDonald's will be the place that refused to serve me, threatened me, and told me to go...
