My friend and I came to Snooks for dinner on Sunday night. We both had to catch up and it was a laid back, quiet environment when we came in. Everything was Christmas decorated, they had 90s music playing, and we were able to get a booth on the wall. Everything was very clean and very neat. Our server was also the hostess for the evening, and though she seemed a little shy, she had a great positive attitude, even helping us out with a cocktail selection we didn't see on the menu, the raspberry lemon drop I believe. It was delicious! We grabbed the fried calamari and spinach dip. I think the dip could've been in a more shallow container, we had so much left we asked for more chips. But both were fantastic appetizers. We ended up ordering Alfredo entrees, but we were both full to really enjoy them. We did notice that the Alfredo pastas were both quite cheesy, in a way that caught us off-guard to start. They did bring out a side of pan cooked peppers and onions, and i wish we received twice the amount for the portion of the dish. We did meet the owner and head chef, Jay, who was a joy to talk to and can tell he carries so much determination and an open mind for the business. Read moreHave dined at Snook's several times, and this was our first visit since the change in ownership. Upon entering, we were greeted by the only staff member behind the bar and promptly seated. We were immediately surprised by the change in layout and atmosphere of the restaurant. One side featured high top tables and the other side featured low top booths. The decor is warm and relaxing and the bar featured comfortable looking upholstered chairs matching those at the tables. Music was at a nice volume for conversation, and lighting was dimmed enough to add to the ambiance. Tablecloths on all tables added to the atmosphere of a special dining experience. The menu has been expanded since the original opening a couple of years ago, and offers a nice selection to fill anyone's hunger. The lone server/bartender this visit did an excellent job taking care of 3 customers at the bar and the several tables of diners. Hubby and I shared the spinach dip (our favorite here) which was as delicious as the first visit months ago. I ordered the salmon and grits and hubby ordered shrimp and grits. The chef/owner served his dishes to diners in person and walked around checking on customers several times during our visit. My dish was cooked to perfection, and as always, the grits were the best ever. Hubby enjoyed his dish as well. Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for a couple years. I always order the same thing, salmon and grits, I didn’t like the other things I tried so I just stuck to the one dish. It was usually good. A few weeks ago I ordered my usual and the GRITS were LUMPY but I was pressed for time and very hungry so I just picked the lumps out ate what I could and didn’t fuss.
Today I ordered and specifically asked PLEASE MAKE SURE ITS NOT LUMPY like it was the last time. Some how that translated to RUNNY GRITS WITH LUMPS! I tried to eat it and I was disgusted 🤮 so I asked for a refund. PER THE INSTRUCTION OF THE OWNER THEY DECLINED TO REFUND ME AND SAID THEY CAN ONLY REMAKE MY ORDER. WHEN THE ORDER CAME OUT THEY REMADE THE GRITS, THEN TOLD ME I HAVE TO SCOOP OUT THE SAMON FROM THE 1st PLATE OF FOOD! WHAT KIND OF GHETTO MESS IT THAT!?!?! WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
