If I could give less than 1 star, I completely would. First, the sign said "Open Monday - Saturday" and today is Sunday, so I assumed the place was closed. My husband drove by and saw cars in the parking lot and turned around. My how I wish we had NOT!! First, it was a bit of a wait to sit down, and there were 5 other families (3 or more people at each table), and when we were seated, we realized that there was only 1 server handling all of the tables. We looked over the menu and realized a noisy child (I am guessing the server was one of the owners and this was her child) was running around the restaurant and the woman kept grabbing her by the arm and hauling her into the back. Finally, she took our drink orders and I asked for water. She asked if I wanted ice or not.... Who doesn't prefer ice in their water?!?!? She then took both our appetizer order and our lunch order and disappeared for nearly 10 minutes. When the drinks were delivered, I looked down and a DEAD BLACK BUG was in my water, but she had already run into the back.... It was over 10 minutes until she was anywhere NEAR our table for me to point it out. She said, "In the ice" and walked back to the back. She brought out a bug FREE glass of water and as I took a sip, I felt something odd in my mouth, looked into the glass, and there were PIECES of things floating in the water.... I was completely done. I wanted to pay for the drinks and get OUT of there, but she came to the table and delivered our appetizer ($13 for 9 tiny pieces of food and a little grill that she lit to cook the cold food). She lit the grill and took off again, but the grill immediately went out and there was no 'cooking' of the different items. This is when I began BEGGING to leave and finally after another TEN MINUTES of trying to get her attention to address the grill, my husband finally agreed. We left $20 on the table and got the hell out of there nearly an HOUR after we go there... Worst first impression of Roswell, NM ever... I doubt that I'll ever go back to that city, let alone that...
Read moreI REALLY wanted to like this place. I really did. The simple fact is that, as a small business owner, you can fall risk to the temptation to wanting to "do it all yourself" to save on costs. Unfortunately, that can often come at the cost of severely affecting the customer experience, which will DEFINITELY affect the bottom line. This place is the classic example of falling into this trap. I visited off-peak, and immediately noticed that the entire restaurant was attempting, poorly, to be run by two people, most likely the owners. Customer after customer came into the restaurant to be greeted by NO ONE, only to have to chase down the one woman working (overworking) to even get a menu. Unacceptable. It took nearly 50 minutes to get my simple order and there were only two other tables occupied when I was there.
While the place is clean, the food acceptable (though salty) and the server/owner friendly, it isn't enough to promote me to return unless they invest in improving the customer experience. In short, HIRE SOME MORE STAFF, READ THE REVIEWS YOUR CUSTOMERS WRITE AND LISTEN TO THEM!
I travel extensively for work, and eat in at least 250-300 restaurants a year, almost all of them being local businesses. Customers have a choice where they spend their money. I hope for the sake of their livelihood, the owners take measures to correct their ineffectual management of this restaurant. As they say, customer satisfaction is useless. Customer loyalty...
Read moreThe food was decent and the prices were fair but it was all the little things that caused me to be less impressed. As soon as we entered the restaurant we noticed it was a little empty and it appeared only have one employee working.
The one lady working there was taking the orders running the cash register and possibly working the kitchen as well. It took a while for her to seat us and then return to our table to take our order. It was several minutes before she arrived with our drinks.
We ordered an appetizer and three entrees . All which took a while to come out even though there was only one other table with people.
We asked for some sweet chili sauce and were told they would be an extra charge for it. We were told there's no refills on drinks and there's a charge for water.
We joked at the table that Roswell so far out in the middle of nowhere that water and sweet chili sauce are rare commodities that can't just be a given away. Every time we asked about something their response was "there will be an extra charge is that okay?"
The food was good, was cooked fresh, and the prices weren't overly high, but we felt like we were being nickeled and dimed for every little thing.
Portion sizes on the plates we're decent but not large. I would probably return here if I was visiting Roswell and hungry for Thai food. It wasn't bad it was just all the little things that took away from...
