Papillon's Pizza — Restaurant in Rothschild

Visited this place about a month ago for the first time in about 10 years.

The pizza is alright...tons of cheese and toppings, but the crust and sauce have no flavor. Or it could be the cheese just overpowers everything. The Italian fries are not nearly as great as they used to be (Wausau Mine has WAY better Italian fries). The tap beer also tasted flat/old.

The service was awful. I visited here with my wife around 3:00pm on a Friday afternoon and it was just us and 1 other couple in the restaurant. It took us nearly 10 minutes to be seated and then another 10 minutes to receive menus because our waitress was too busy talking to one of the other employees. She was also very unprofessional. While we were eating our food, there was a kitchen employee who would regularly come behind the bar while drinking a soda and he would stare at us for minutes at a time while we ate. It was very uncomfortable. This place also looked and smelled musty (menus felt like they had been dripped in maple syrup). No way I'm ever coming...

This was a great place to eat. My wife and I was in town for the weekend. We had meals at 3 restaurants and this was the best by far. Very friendly people they made us feel welcome and don't get me started on the food. We left our phones back at the hotel but there are enough pictures on there that do it justice. At 1st I was a little off put buy the prices (I am cheap as they come) but after I got the food it was money well spent. I even had leftovers that I am now enjoying at 6 am the next day. People of Wausau please eat local. It made me 😭 to see the national restaurants were busy as hell but the little local shops were dead. Your all going to look around next year or two and be like why is our city dead and this will be why. All the take out from the local spots don't help the works pay there bills. My wife and I was the 1st table of our servers night (she was 3 hours in) but the take out was hoping people In and out. If people liked this place so much eat in help them make it in...

i’ve never been to this restaurant before. I ordered food to pick up. I picked up my order and was called back by the restaurant about three minutes later stating that they gave me cheese curds instead of Italian cheese bread. they wanted me to bring back the cheese curds, which were in my car, not knowing really the safety. They took the cheese curds back and gave it to the people they were supposed to, the food I had was a chicken taco salad that was the worst taco salad I have ever had. They also stated that they were known for their Italian cheese bread. It was terrible. It’s bread with some mozzarella cheese on it and that’s it. I do not recommend this restaurant. It really makes me question the quality/safety. what type of restaurant would give somebody the wrong food and expect you to bring it back and then not knowing what happened once I picked it up, took it back and gave it to some other customers after it had...
