Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Round Lake Beach

It’s ALWAYS freezing in the store. They get terribly backed up with online orders and grub hub, pushing in-person guests to the back burner. All that aside, we still enjoy eating here at least twice a month… until yesterday. We’ve dined in and carried out MANY TIMES since covid, never ever having worn any masks. Always someone different there to take my order, never forced to wear a mask. Yesterday I was denied the opportunity to order. Why only yesterday was my money not good enough? Why only yesterday did THAT employee decide that I HAD to wear a mask to order, when I was already standing behind plexiglass? Why was it yesterday that mattered, when last week they had a repair man behind the cooler with no mask on??

This was the straw that broke the camels back for us. We’re always patient, kind, and thankful. We even leave a tip. We absolutely won’t ever be back. We’ll either find a Jersey Mike’s in Wisconsin where politics don’t rule the world, or go right down the road to Potbelly’s where we don’t get judged for our...

I went here for lunch with my girlfriend on my day off, as we decided to try something new. We walk in to see a friendly staff waiting on other customers while we look over the menu. We place our order and that brings up to our first problem, we walk out $45 in 3 different sandwiches. That is really expensive but I figured it was warranted with a chicken cheese steak, a chicken bacon ranch, and a buffalo chicken sandwiches. We get home to start eating and notice a few things. First, the meat on any of the sandwiches is not cooked fully. It is close enough to eat, but still far enough to notice. Second, we begin to eat and when I tell you this chicken was some of the worst taste I've ever had, I mean it. It was slimy, watery, and overall not good. Third, my girlfriend could not get through her sandwich without feeling that her inside have just been tossed around with the few bits that she had. She did not even finish her food, and with spending $45 for 2 people, I would have really hoped if either of us hadn't finished our food that it would be leftovers for later. I just spent nearly $60 dollars for garbage. And I will never EVER eat at Jersey Mike's Round Lake Beach, ever again. NEVER. They constantly get the orders wrong, their sandwiches are always dried out or over seasoned or underdone in some way. I am rather surprised by all the positive comments, considering how bad their food is.

I could compare them to Buona or Portillos or Mr. Beef, downtown but lets just stick to their lowball realm. By comparison to Jimmy Johns, Subway, Chipotle, or Mall food, they still are the worst and most overpriced, even beating out Jimmy Johns which is always pricey as is Subway. But at least I can pick out my toppings and watch over the process with my eyes at Subway, saying "more please" or "Those onions don't look fresh." But you have no say at Jersey Mikes and they end up preparing your order wrong over and over. I have stood there and told them and I have used the app, which should be fool proof. But somehow they get it wrong ever time. Hands down, ever time.
