I REALLY WANTED TO HAVE A GOOD TIME... but appearently dancing and trying to let loose makes them not want to serve you. I was there with a great band, half empty but planned for several weeks to meet friends and go specifically there.... I had one sangria and a a taste or quarter of a local beer my friend suggested then not liking it gave it back to him. I was with my friends having a merry time sitting, meeting a nice couple at the table next to us and trying to enjoy the band dancing. For whatever reason when my friend went to order our 2nd sangria they said they cut me off. I was like why? So i went to talk yo the bartender but she was extremely rude even though we were having a coherent conversation. I explained I've had less than 2 drinks in the hour an half I was there. And was definitely sober. She still said no and tried to blame it on driving. Told her I wasn't driving as I actually do drink responsibly plus our cabin we rented was 4 min walk from this place. There was zero reason why she would "cut me off." Was my dancing, outgoing and merry nature too much free spirit? Its supposed to be a dance hall. I felt honestly judged and criticized by this bartender who technically never even served me a drink bc she gave to my friend. Then beyond that when I actually ask for my first drink from her I get told no and cut off? After only really 1 sangria? After we come in and tip the band a bigger tip and with a group of 4 friends who planned particularly to come there and spend good money. This was one of the only nights to get out without my child and ENJOY dancing and friends..... but appearently dancing and trying to explain your sobriety and asking reeason for why she refused to serve me is enough reason to threaten me as well that I will be forced to leave. I did absolutely nothing wrong other than appearently the bartender has a chip on her shoulder for people who tourist their city. She could tell me no valid reason and did not even seem to care to listen as well. I know the law and drink limits as well as have owned/managed bars myself so I was extremely shocked and disappointed during my personal experience when I had heard wonderful things about the venue and then I legitimately was cut off before I could really have the chane enjoy the venue. My party was like really upped and left. I will say the band was great. The female bartender that night... rude. I will definitely be back to Round Top.... probably not back here after such an unnecessary response...

My mother and I went here during the antique fair. We left pretty disappointed, but I’m sure others left more frustrated than us.

I can understand if they have limited staff and resources, but then again you should be better prepared for events like this (especially if you know you are going to have tourists months in advance).

The customer service was not good. Girl upfront desk was pretty blunt and rude. She had a “alright what else do you want, you are holding up the line” kind of attitude.

There’s only two options on the menu: sandwich/burger or pizza. We got each. They served the food pretty fast, but quality is basically “beer food”. This is the kind of food that MIGHT be pretty good once you’re drunk. My mom commented that the chicken had a very weird “stringy” texture (never seen chicken cooked like that in my life) and asked the server what chicken they use to cook it. But of course it seems no server knows what they are using or how they are cooking in the kitchen. How do you not know how your food is cooked at the place you work at?

By the time we were leaving, it seemed one lady customer was very frustrated and left the front desk. I would not recommend taking your family or anyone here at all unless you want to get plastered and then...

Management either needs training or retraining. Went in today (Friday) with my wife at 3:30 p.m. with only 8-10 other customers in the restaurant. Decided a pizza and beer would be a good afternoon snack. Beer was cold and the pizza was barely lukewarm. Went to the bar to request better and was informed that they could either reheat the pizza they gave me or I could BUY another. Requested the manager she informed me that, with the large crowd (remember the 8-10 others?) they were not able to get the pizza out to our table fast enough so she made me the same offer as the cashier (buy another or reheat). After more discussion she finally, with much regret, offered to make us another pizza - but it would take another 15". Darn, it's Friday afternoon and I am drinking beer and eating pizza - does it look like I am in a hurry? She finally delivers the pizza herself, no apology, much put out. Not sure I will go back or recommend it. I sure miss the old...

Great night with my friends at The Stone Cellar! Prices are high ($10 per small pour of wine), but the atmosphere, friendliness and food make up for it. Brandi was our waitress. She was very friendly and fast getting our items to us. We thoroughly enjoyed the live music and dance space. It seems many of the patrons were locals. They were all warm and even asked us all to dance several times. The outside perimeter has a wrap around porch that would be great for warmer months (we were there in November). The chips and queso were great. The chips themselves were piping hot. The fried green tomatoes served with ranch are delicious. I recommend this place fir anyone wanting a fun night out with small town feel and charm.

The pizza and beer are great. I had the Cowgirl Junkie pizza and recommend it. It has pepperoni, Canadian bacon and homemade candied jalapenos (we visited with the lady who candies them). I loved the crispy, thin crust. My wife had a gluten- free pizza and said the crust was really good. As far as value, the 12" pizza at $15-$17 is enough for 2 to share. In a tourist location like Round Top, it is practically a bargain. The atmosphere is homey western pub. The staff are friendly, and obviously invested in the place. I'm not a big beer person, but enjoyed the on-tap "Buried Hatchet" dark ale. It was smooth and malty.

On our way to Austin we stumbled into this hidden gem! They had a live band that would cover anything from Tupac to Slipknot but with their Country Twang versions! 😂 Joking about the Cover band but this is a place where you take a nice gal to before ya hit up 6th St. In Austin, just to show her how life will be if and when ya get older together! 😁 Oh and the cookies are to die for!!! Some of the best/softest cookies I've ever had!
