I wish there was a 0-star system for the poor business philosopy and customer service. Customer service goes a long way, and sadly, this place has lost a good customer.
Iāve been a loyal customer of this location since it first opened, frequently placing orders averaging $150-200 each month because my students love the chicken. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have made me stop doing business with this location.
My most recent issue began with a problem in a previous order. The radish container wasnāt sealed properly, causing it to leak and ruin one of the large boxes of boneless chicken. When I called the restaurant, they told me that they would issue a credit for the damaged box so I let it go.
Last Friday, however, things took a turn for the worse. This time, the bowl lid of ddeuk-bokki wasn't shut properly and the red sauce ruined my embroidered designer jeans and the leather seats of my Lincoln as I was picking up the bag from my car! I called the restaurant and was told the manager wouldnāt be available until Sunday. The girl at the counter said she would leave a message.
Instead of a promised call, I received a text the following day offering me a free ddeuk-bokki which was āapprovedā by the manager. It politely explained that the "offer" would expire in a month. Mr. Manager at bb.q Chicken, I don't need a free ddeuk-bokki. What I was expecting was a phone call and a sincere apology as promised instead of a quick fix via text. I texted back saying that I was seeking a genuine apology and improved customer service, but received no reply.
Iāve always supported local businesses, but Iām truly disappointed by how Iāve been treated here. Additionally, theyāre extremely stingy with basic items like utensils and carryout bags. For an order meant to feed 20 people, I had to almost beg for chopsticks or forks. If I forget to ask, they don't even put some napkins with your order. The spill could have been avoided if they hadnāt packed three large boxes of chicken and a big bowl of ddeuk-bokki into a single,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI placed my order at 7:04 pm and went to the store (19735 Colima Rd # 1, Rowland Heights, CA 91748) around 7:40 pm when the APP told me the order was ready. Many people were waiting to pick up. The servers seemed busy preparing orders and called out names when the order was ready. So I was waiting with other customers. I waited about 30 minutes, but I still had yet to receive my order; at that time, it was around 8:10 pm. I asked one of the servers if they had my order ready, and he told me that he didn't have the order with my name and asked me to show him the order confirmation. I showed him the BBQ Chicken APP, and he searched on the cashier machine, then turned around to talk to the waiter who was working inside in a language that I didn't understand, then told me that they had a missing ticket, they would help me prepare my order right now. I said okay. Then, he didn't print out anything or place any new orders. I doubted that he didn't place a new order for me, but I didn't ask him again since they were talking with another language, I assume they may do something for me, just I don't understand their languages. I waited until all the customers pick their orders, me and my husband and my son were the last group people in the restaurant, the waiter turn around, saw my face, then realized I haven't got my order yet. He told me that he was going to prepare my order right now. I asked him if he had placed a new order for me earlier, but he ignored my question. Finally, I got my order at 8:36 pm, an 1 hour and a half after I placed my order in the BBQ chicken APP. I ordered two small wings. One box was freshly made, and another was placed on the side box for over 1 hour. I understand that the restaurant was so busy, and I tried to be polite, but this is not an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do like the food here it tastes good but there are several things that i really donāt like which brings my score down 2 stars.
First, the prices are definitely too high. I donāt know if the owner has any control over this since it is a chain store but if the prices were in line or better than other wing spots i would be more likely to eat here.
Second, there are no meal combos that you can get outside of (i think) a lunch special that only lasts 4 hours from mon-fri. This is awful and makes no sense, every other place lets you get a wing combo that comes with fries and a drink, no matter when you order. Here you have to buy them all separately which further increases the cost š
The third thing i dont like that also makes no sense, is that they donāt even let you pick more than one flavor per order of wings. This just feels very stingy to me, like theyāre trying to force you into buying another order just to have one extra flavor. They should change it so that you can get two flavors for a small order, and 4 flavors on a medium order. The only option they have now for getting 2 flavors at once is very restrictive and only applies to 2 or 3 specific flavors so you canāt even choose whatever you want.
Wingstop is my usual go to place for boneless wings, and it is better than bbq chicken in all 3 of the areas i described. If they are able to address these issues and improve upon them, i think everyone who comes here would be happier and i would also update my review to 5 stars. And i would most likely come here for wings over wingstop...
