The worst Daiso in terms of customer service and reliable workers.
Two things:
it’s quite normal for a young, tattooed, bleach blond haired guy to come into a Japanese specialty store in a full business suit to stock up on his favorite Japanese home wares and products before he returns to Germany—though what’s not normal is being followed around incessantly by the two staff members pretending to “stock up” or “fix up” certain merchandise displays that have practically been untouched since the last customer ventured into that section of the store. It’s presumable no one has in several days if one can use the layer of dust and lint in them as an example.
Daiso offers a great two-tier/double shopping basket shopping cart to make purchasing a large quantity of items easier to tote around the store. What’s not great? The attitude of the male cashier when I attempted to place the second on the counter as he was finishing up with the first and quipped (yelled) at me that it “isn’t making his job easier”. I’m sorry? I just spent nearly 75$ on your products, which is essentially an entire day’s paycheck and you have the anger and audacity to tell me to make your job easier? Try finding one where your attitude fits in, say, as a participant in a group therapy discussion on anger management with a stipend for your time. Better yet, keep the job and consider anger management therapy, period.
The only reason I gave this one two stars is of course, the amazing product range they have of things I never knew existed or needed until I saw them.
Go to the other Daiso down the street Westward on Colima, they’re only a millimeter above this store in customer service attitude, but the store is much larger, easier to navigate, and you won’t have psychotic powertripping workers stalk you around the store as you’re purchasing enough products to pay their checks at the end...
Read moreI really LIKE this store, it has so much variety of random, USEFUL unique items. With no food and some candy, there's no inventory loss. Everything is INEXPENSIVE and shelf-stable items for categories like household, bathroom, containers, pets, house shoes, scarves, kitchen utensils, bags, toys, dishes, car accessories, candy, stuffed animals... with prices ranging from $1.50 at the least, up to about $8.00 so it's like a Japanese version of Dollar General or 99 Cents (only) Store. Every time I browse through the whole store I always think, "What a GREAT PLACE to...
Read moreThis was my 2nd visit to a Daiso store, 1st visit to this particular store. Overall, I enjoy the store. The items are unique and many items are worth the additional .50. I'll be purchasing some stocking stuffers here. The only complaint I have is they don't have a public restroom. I asked the cashier if I could leave my basket with him while I went to the McDonald across the parking lot. He said yes and when I came back my basket was gone. I asked him what happened and he just gave a little laugh and said I don't know,...
