CHAYAN 茶宴 — Restaurant in Rowland Heights

They are still in their soft opening phase so they were running a BOGO promotion when I came which was so great. Luckily there wasn't a long line to order. We ordered the Matcha Green Tea Frappe ($6.99) less sugar and less ice, and the Osmanthus Lychee Milk Tea ($6.29). They only have one cup size for the option so the prices are a bit on the pricier end for their drinks. Good thing they were running the BOGO.

They have a few tables inside for seating and the interior was chic and modern. The drinks were ready in around 5 minutes or so and they add the whipped cream on the frappes right in front of you.

The matcha frappe is one of their top sellers so I was looking forward to it but there wasn't any matcha taste and the consistency isn't really a frappe. It tasted like a typical green milk tea but with whipped cream. The whipped cream was also the normal whipped cream and is on the sweeter side so it made the milk tea sweeter once mixed together even with the sugar level adjusted. It was just alright 4/5

My friends got the Osmanthus Lychee Milk Tea ($6.29) and one of them thought the lychee didn't taste good with the milk tea but the other enjoyed it. I would say it is worth trying. 4/5

Since it's my 1st time, I must order their MOST POPULAR drinks to see if it is their signature drinks.

The store shows 2 simple menus plus 1 more showing the TOP 6 most popular drinks.

1 Pu'er Milk Tea (浮生半日） Overall taste grade A+

Even though I order less sugar, but the sweetness is PERFECT. it is the BEST for regular ice on this hot day.

2 Black Tea Frappe Overall taste grade = B

I order regular sugar and it is a bit too sweet and can not taste the TEA much.

The cream and Pecan nuts crumbs are NOT as good as I expected.

The service is fast despite many people waiting to get their drinks.

The place is small and the air conditioning is not too strong on this hot day.

The ambience is good and play popular English pop music.

I will be back to try MORE drinks.

P.S. The only thing I do NOT like is that NO PRICE listed on the menu. Hope the store will...

First time visiting Chayan, and I was immediately impressed by their stylish dark green cups with gold lettering – very classy and Instagram-worthy! 📸

I ordered the Black Tea Frappe and the Da-Hong-Pao Milk Tea. Both drinks were amazing:

✨ The Frappe came topped with whipped cream and crunchy nuts – creamy, refreshing, and perfect for summer. ✨ The Da-Hong-Pao Milk Tea had a strong tea aroma with a smooth, balanced taste. Not overly sweet, just the right amount of richness.

The staff was also friendly and gave helpful recommendations on sweetness and ice levels. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try the Osmanthus Milk Tea and Matcha Latte next time.
