Settle in, this is going to be a LONG one...
The IHOP is about a block from my house so it is very convenient, especially late at night after other places have closed. Historically, this place has been pretty good, however, within the last year things have taken a COMPLETE nose dive here regarding the quality of the food, and the quality of the service.
Just in the last month alone I've had at least 3 separate inexcusable incidents here, and I feel like I am now done going to this place after years of being a devoted customer.
Incident #1.) I placed a carry-out order over the phone. I was told 10-15 minutes. I showed up after 15 minutes after after waiting another 15 minutes I asked where my order was and told them it had been at least 30 minutes since I placed my order. I was then met with a snarky remark by one of the rude waitresses there saying "It hasn't been that long", to which I replied "yes it has, look on my phone". I held my phone up to show the woman the time of my call and she said in a nasty tone yet again, "Please don't stick your phone in my face", which I absolutely did not do. I HELD MY PHONE UP so she could look at it. I had had enough and I said "I will go elsewhere where they know how to treat customers.
Incident #2.) After giving it a few weeks break from the first incident, I figured I would try again because I was excited to try their "new" burgers, the burgers which they are rebranding themselves with by calling themselves "IHOB" now. So I called to make an order over the phone. Guess what? "Oh we're out of burgers, fries and onion rings." Wow. Seriously?? You are rebranding yourself as a burger place and you let your restaurant run out of burgers? There's absolutely no excuse for this.
Incident #3.) Fast forward another week or so, I ordered over the phone again, had my order repeated back to me, and when it was picked up by my dad, not only did they neglect to give my dad the drink that was included with my order, but they asked him, "Do you need change?" when he paid with a $10 bill for a $7 order. Are you serious??? You really think it's appropriate to ask for a 40% tip ON A CARRY OUT ORDER that you didn't even get right???
So yeah, I am DONE. And when you try to call back it's like they know you had a problem because they refuse to even answer the phone. I called 4 times and no answer.
I have a feeling this place is on the fast track to going out of business if this is how they are treating their customers with such disrespect and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. If I could have given 0, I would have. There were 5 staff members who were just hanging out on the closed side of the restaurant when we walked in at around 7:30. On the open side all of the chairs were up and there were wet floor signs, but the floor was not even broomed and the there was one wet spot of soapy water on the floor, but not by the signs it was actually right next to the booth they sat us at. The waitress could not tell us what was good. She told us she was new and had not eaten there. We got no refills on water and she didnāt even stick an around long enough to let us tell her we wanted anything. Both my husband and sonās chocolate chip pancakes came burned. Also all the chocolate chips were only in the center. My cinnamon bun crepes did not have the toppings (no strawberries or sauce). When we asked for a check it didnāt come. We had to ask again and then had to go to the register ourselves to pay. They couldnāt seem produce an me itemized receipt even after I inquired for one. I donāt think what we ordered cost what they told us, but we will never know. To make the experience worse there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and the trash can looked like it had not been emptied in a while. We will not eat here again. We have been to other IHOP locations and usually it is a fast, clean, and nice. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took them 20 minutes to take our order and almost 20 more minutes to get any food. Nothing was fast, clean, or nice about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally do not like to be negative in reviews, but this is the worst IHOP I've ever been to. I'm sure it may have just been my timing (when I arrived there), but still. I went there for the first time a few days ago, and promised myself to never return there after encountering a couple of turn-offs:
First turn off: As soon as I walked in, I was instantly greeted by a blasting chill from the AC unit (I should note that it was 5am and already chilly outside). Second: After waiting about a minute or two for someone to help me (I was literally the only customer there), a nice lady greeted me and walked me to a table. She asked how I was doing that morning and, after I responded with "Tired. And you?", she replied with "I'm tired as hell!" It shocked me a bit, but it got worse. One of her coworkers tried to correct her on the issue, but she then jokingly added: "It's cool ... This is my cousin!" That normally wouldn't be too much of an issue, but the fact that she didn't care that she was intentionally unprofessional to a paying customer made me want to leave. That was a major turn-off for me. For the record: I am not related to her [to my knowledge]. Third: [Please note that, at this point, I may have been a little picky with everything since the environment and customer service was terriblly unappealing - making me search for something that I can be happy about] The quality of the food was sub-par and did not justify all of the previously mentioned turn-offs.
In conclusion: I was, in total, displeased with my experience there and will not be returning for...
