Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Ruston

The Chick! Can't ask for anything more! A delicious sandwich on white or wheat and maybe even a croissant. ( I'm a creature of habit, so mine is usually on wheat-toasted.) Then, an extra scoop of either chicken salad or pimento cheese, a pickle spear, and a tasty bite of shortbread cookie with icing. The chicken salad comes in a range of flavors from traditional to fruity to savory. My personal favorite is Fancy Nancy, but I've tried them all and urge you to do the same.

This particular CSC is in Ruston, Louisiana which is closer to home. However, my introduction to CSC was in Monroe, Louisiana. Had just left Books A Million and wanted something filling but light: Chicken salad! Loved the sayings of the owner's mom that are posted on the wall, particularly the one about not being dressed without lipstick! ( Or something close to that.) Also, love how many of the flavors were created by and named after her friends. But what I love the most is how she started the business in her kitchen and used a set-back in operations to open a door rather than close...

I stopped by on my lunch break for the Jazzie Julie chicken sandwich with fruit on the side. Customer service was great, my meal came within minutes. I went back to work and got ready to eat my sandwich looked inside a long piece of blue hair/ string was mixed in with my salad. I immediately took it back and showed the lady that helped me. She was polite and told me she would make me another meal. As I was waiting I looked in the back kitchen area and there is a young lady with blue hair. How gross 🤢 I feel they should wear hair nets so this will not happen again. I took the meal because I was gonna be hungry for lunch but I wouldn’t be ordering again. The sandwich was plain with a dash of cayenne pepper, and they gave me less fruit. So much for trying new things. No more blue hairy chicken...

Delicious food with excellent customer service. I purchased a sandwich and potato soup and a side of broccoli salad (I was hungry!). The sand which was toasted to perfection and the amount of chicken salad was a large portion. The salad was very tasty and not too salty. The soup was delicious with cheese and bacon on top. And the broccoli salad was delicious. There wasn’t too much dressing to the point where you’re eating just cream but the amount was just enough to give the salad the perfect taste. The cashier and lady who brought my food was also extremely pleasant...
