I NEVER HAVE POSTED A BAD REVIEW ..... UNTIL NOW. I so wanted to like this place. The bartender was nice, polite and efficient, yet didn't know anything about the local drafts they had, didn't drink wine and hated the smell of gin ..... I had the sirloin. Nothing was overall horribly wrong, but it just didn't add up to the price or my expectations. The salad was chincy and small. The steak was a bit tough and tasted like it had liquid smoke poured on in. The "loaded" mashed potatoes were (as far as I could tell) only loaded with salt and pepper.
What topped it off was that when the bill came, I told the bartender that I would pay my bill but I was conflicted about how to handle my disappointment with the meal. I didn't want to raise a fuss, but wanted to offer constructive criticism and wanted the option of giving it to someone face to face versus online. WELL ....... apparently management said "since he finished his meal there is nothing we can do", so declined to come out and speak to me directly ....... OMG, I was floored. Isn't management 101 first lesson is to engage someone who has an issue ???? I wanted to tell them in person so they could hear it face to face, not anonymously on the internet.
Anyways, I've said enough. On a Wednesday, they were packed, so apparently the locals do not have the same opinion as me, but I'm just flabbergasted that no one would want my heart felt opinion about my meal. I can not recommend ANY food establishment that would NOT want to listen to a customers concerns .......
Read moreThis was something I lucked into. I found it totally by accident. I am traveling across upper LA on I-20. I left Shreveport this morning, went to a customer site and once that was done I contemplated grabbing something near there or waiting until I got to Ruston. I am so glad I waited. I arrived early to the hotel so I searched for some place to get a late lunch. I saw something online near the hotel and started that way but drove by Log Cabin Grill and pulled over to check it out. (Funny it didn’t show up on my Apple Maps when I searched Restaurants nearby 🤔). Google reviews looked great so I went back. The menu was overwhelming, it was a long time since breakfast and I wanted everything. I asked my server Avery for a suggestion and she was spot on, chicken fried chicken. It was delicious. Freshly made. Dessert was peach bread pudding with ice cream. If you are traveling through, do yourself a favor and stop here. If you live in the area then surely you have to already know how great this place is.
Update: After working in Grambling I was heading to Vicksburg and stopped by here for lunch. Even if I would have been heading towards Shreveport I was planning on coming here again. No matter which direction I was traveling. This time I had Liz as my server, she recommended two different items than what I had yesterday… both were ones I was struggling with making a choice between. So I used a coin flip app and went 3 out of 5, hamburger steak won out. Another delicious meal...
Read moreMy first experience there was when my mother, sister, and myself went there. The service was adequate, our orders were correct, and the food came out quickly. My next visit was when my father, sister, and I went there and our experience there was totally different. We felt miss treated as soon as my family and I took our seats. The server barely came to our table. Our food took longer to come out than last time and they even got my father's order wrong. My father ordered a "south west burger" and the waitress thought he said "south west eggrolls." When the waitress understood her mistake and took the eggrolls back it took no longer than 5 minutes for her to return with his burger and fries. The meat looked like a reheated patty; after my father took a couple of bites he couldn't stand the taste of his patty and wanted to reorder the eggrolls and take the burger and fries away. Instead the manager came out and questioned him on his meal. She swore to him that their burgers use "100% real beef." It only takes common sense to know that a real beef burger takes longer than 5 minutes to cook. We didn't like her combative attitude (the manager's) paid for our meal and decided not to return. We felt mistreated and embarrassed in front of the our visitors their. I paid for my father, sister, and my own food and they still charged for the burger my father didn't...
