I give Jim Dandy’s a firm 4 for quality of food … We have ordered from this location many of times at least 3-4 times in the last 2 months alone . We have ordered pick-up & delivery . I would suggest pick-up as best option considering our last experience alone . (To review that your getting what you ordered) The food has been up to this review very good!!! EXCEPTIONAL HONESTLY !!!!! This most recent experience prompting this review has left a bad taste in mouth …. Not only is the food great the staff for the most part has been very welcoming. The quality of the food has been tasteful & satisfying. This most recent order not that great . We placed an order for delivery which we are only 5 minutes from the location to our home . We try to most often pick-up but we’re un-able at that moment. We are a Family of 5 & as you can imagine order a considerable amount of food to accommodate a larger family . We have ordered apps, entrees & sides etc… The cost is not the issue & again for the most part the quality of the food has not been an issue up until this point . We were told that food would take an 1hour for delivery 5minutes away. We also tried to order previously ordered items that we were informed were only priced for order between specific times . When I brought to the gentleman’s attention that we had ordered these items around the same time previously we were told that it depends on who’s working when we called . Apparently some workers will take the order & charge at the quoted price but some will not honor it given the time ?!?!?!? Sounds so Unprofessional !!!!! We were fine with the quoted time ! No problem willing to wait for the tasty food. We ordered 4or5 meals along with beverages & it was said be a 1 hour wait . It turned into almost a 1 & 1/2 hour wait AGAIN no problem waiting! When the driver delivered the food we were not provided with drinks that we ordered & paid for in advance to accompany our meals. We informed the delivery driver as well as calling in to the establishment to notify of missing items as well as some issues concerning the food it self . At that time driver had already been given a tip!!!!We were told that they would get our drinks to us ASAP ( which again we only live 5mins from the restaurant) Food was paid for ✅ Driver was tipped ✅ We received what we paid & waited for 🚫 we waited 45 minutes for our drinks to come-after the food that was delivered which was not 100% correct & they never addressed the issues that we stated in concern with our actual food order . (Not the missing beverages ) Actual Food !!!! Again I called the establishment to speak with a Manager or Owner I left my name & # ? Waited 4 days & did not receive a reply back about message I left or the mishap with my order . I patiently called back today & spoke with the same gentleman that I placed the original order with over the phone …. Don’t really feel that he was concerned or even cared about my business especially after he stated how busy they have been since they re-opened . And didn’t even bother to acknowledge the fact that he could indeed see how often that me & my family had ordered & supported our local restaurants during these unfortunate times that didn’t only affect businesses but family’s as well I supported this business before & after they experienced a very devastating fire to the business that unfortunately happened durning the pandemic. I tried to continue to be supportive given the prior great experiences with BOTH food quality & service !!! Honestly if It had only been this mistake with our most recent order I would still undoubtedly support this local business but given my interaction with the person in charge & the nonchalant response to our not so great experience I now doubt my support to continue to order from here given solely on my experience with the gentleman that I spoke to in regards to my feed back & experience....

Mango Habanero Wings Smoked Brisket Full Rack of Ribs Bird In Hand Smoked Pork

I randomly found out across this barbecue restaurant as I walked along the main strip. Having no knowledge of this location, my curiosity led me inside.

Jose, the manager, told me the chef prepares a homemade barbecue sauce, which has been a family secret recipe for over 30 years. Jose also brought to my attention a really great deal offered on Tuesdays: full rack of ribs for the cost of a half rack! He gave me a free sample of the secret sauce.

That spoon size taste went a long way as I was immediately hooked by its flavor and tanginess. With the exception of the wings, I tried the sauce on all of their killer meats! The tender, juicy brisket melted in my mouth. The pork ribs fell right off the bone.

My personal favorite was the bird in hand. This half chicken made me feel like I was in dining at Medieval Times in Lyndhurst! The only thing missing was a tournament with gladiators grappling in a colosseum!

Between the tasty meats, strictly confidential house made barbecue sauce, and the excellent service from the manager and the servers, I was very content and my crave for barbecue has been happily fulfilled!

I've been a loyal cusotmer of Jim Dandy's ever since they opened their doors in Rutherford. Tonight, 6/23/22, I called in an order for Philadelphia Wrap, with an upgrade of the included fries to Tater Tots and ordered a Bacon Cheddar burger with a side order of Tater Tots. I was charged the $2.50 uplift on the Philadelphia wrap...no issue. But there was a $7.00 charge for the tater tots side order for the burger. I asked why as the price of the side order of tater tots is listed as $5.95 on the menu? The person told me that he charged me the price of a platter ($4.50 for regular fries and then the $2.50 uplift for tater tots). I did not order a "platter". The burgers do not come with fries like the wrap. So we volleyed back and forth on the logic. The young lady finally refunded me the difference. What really bothers me is that I've been ordering the burger with tater tots for quite a long time and have obviously been overpaying for this. Buyer beware. Always count your change. Trust but verify. Shame on the management for allowing this practice to occur. No questions about the food, which is excellent. But this particular...
