Our family loves Culver's. Butter Burgers are one of my favorite once in a while fast food choices.
As we are soon moving to McHenry County, we were there to discuss the house we are building and we stopped at this Culver's for lunch.
My husband had the cod sandwich and fries and I had a double Butter Burger and a side of steamed broccoli. I like to try to eat healthy and watch my weight, so I appreciate Culver's offering a healthy alternative to deep fried side dishes like the steamed broccoli. It was perfectly cooked, not under cooked and not smushy. That's rare for a quick food restaurant. I did put a pat of butter on my broccoli. A kind worker brought me sone butter with a smile on her face. That was very pleasant. All the workers were polite and kind. That always causes me to want to return to a place of business.
My Butter Burger was perfect. Crispy edges, hot and yummy with only exactly what I wanted on it. This place listens when you order your food! My Burger was so filling I took half if it home for lunch tomorrow.
I stole two of my husband's French fries, just for fun. Those were hot and crispy.
My husband quite enjoyed his cod sandwich, saying nothing while eating (which means he likes his food) except to nod and grunt when I asked if I could have a few of his fries. He's a man of few words.
Our food was brought to us quickly. That was happily unexpected as we walked in around 12:15 P.M.and the restaurant was crowded. Our food was hot and flavorful. I have no complaints with the food or the restaurant. The requisite screaming children were present, as they always seem to be at virtually every Culver's we've ever been to. As Culver's is a family place, we expect babies and small children to sometimes be joyfully (or not so joyfully) obvious while present. We had small children ourselves while we were young parents. It's not a reason to avoid this yummy family restaurant.
I'm sure we will frequent this Culver's for a long, long...
Read moreChicken sandwich, French fries and a drink as a meal. I also ordered chicken strips, French fries and a drink as a meal as well as cheese courds and onion rings on the side. I received a chicken sandwich French fries and a drink, chicken strips cheese curds and onion rings ( forgetting French fries and the drink) the total of $24 and change. ( first time for this chicken stuff) holy cow that is a lot of money for frozen food that has no taste at all. I had to wait after I placed the order up by the garbage can. I questioned the order when it arrived to my car but I have to be honest the receipt really didn't itemize anything in pricing ( just said $24 and the change) This is something that may need to be changed. You also can't go online and find Culver's pricing as well. ( I'm sure this is done on purpose also) If our local fast food places in Huntley are now going to start to charge us and absorbent amount of money and reach into our wallet.. I will now go ahead and truly start to review and give an honest review about how their service and food tastes for the dollar figure that we are being charged for the food and service we are receiving. To the local food establishments in Huntley, Lake in the hills, and Algonquin I am one customer that will now start to honestly review and write positive as well as negative reviews. No longer will you take money out of my pocket freely .... hand us a receipt that is very Vague or hide the pricing of your food on the Internet so it can't be found. You will not be able to charge us an absorbent amount of money for frozen food that has no taste!!! I am sorry if this offends people...but they say a bit dog will bark! Fix it and you won't...
Read moreI wish i could leave no stars but sadly that’s not the choice here but this restaurant is probably the worst place you could think of. I am a ferm believer in the customer is always right and at times this place is good at it but defending racist customers is the worst thing i could here. Today a customer entered this restaurant and walked to the cash register and the cashier was an African American. This woman complained to this poor kids face, yes a high schooler, and told him she will not be served by a black person and demanded to be served by a white person and to see the manager. Soon the manager came up and i had hoped the manager would remove her from the restaurant but instead treated her to what she wanted and made it her mission to calm this woman down and serve this woman and this had the nerve to go back to the kid and apologize. He should have never been treated like that and as a manager i would have hoped she would have taught someone that racism is not okay. It is not okay to tell someone of color and of any color that they are to lesser than them to serve them. A manager should not condone this woman’s actions. This restaurant already has so many problems with there employees by treating them terribly by forcing them to come into work no matter what even if they are sick and yes if you’ve ever eaten there just think that they forced a kid with pink eye to serve you food. This place is a mess and after what i heard today i am appalled by the actions of this restaurant. If you wanna go somewhere in Huntley to eat i would never go to...
