Man, Iâm upset I have to write this review. We used to LOVE Hat Creek. It was a bit pricier, but they had great custom ingredients - it was a âboutique burger.â We could get it exactly like we wanted. Not anymore.
Weâve tried. Weâve rolled with it. For a year. Sigh. But no more.
Their buns have gradually become flatter and flatter. Itâs like a guy in the kitchen sits on them. And then, the grease from the meat turns the ultra-thin bun into wet paper when you pick it up. It shreds apart.
Theyâve gradually cut half their ingredients off the menu. My wife loves feta on her burger. No longer offered. I love a swiss mushroom burger, but today was informed the only cheeses they now offer are American, Cheddar, and Pepper Jack.
Then, I was told âwe donât do no mushrooms no more.â So⌠wow.
And upon arriving home with my order, the expensive ingredients I did pay extra for (avocado and bacon) were not on my wifeâs burger.
My kid said her burger smelled and tasted funny. Upon opening it, all kinds of ârandom ingredient bitsâ (onion, lettuce pieces, etc.) had found their way under the bun of a plain burger. The child wonât TOUCH IT, now. So a full burger - in the trash. (Okay, I expect that in fast food, but not for these prices. It speaks to a sloppy kitchen.)
All in all⌠I ended up paying $45 for 3 burgers, 2 fries, an order of fried pickles, 2 drinks and a small milkshake. I mean⌠we could sit down at a cafe or restaurant for that.
Shake was good, though. Then again itâs hard to screw up a shake.
If youâre going to charge 50-90% more than fast food prices⌠you need to be better than fast food.
So long Hat Creek, you were great when you were actually great. But âwe donât do no Hat...
Read moreWhile the fires and the dipping sauce are phenomenal⌠the burgers are pretty damn underwhelming. Honestly McDonaldâs has a more flavorful burger even compared to this place. This isnât to say their food is bad! Just itâs nothing special by any means If youâre looking for a purely average burger, this is a pretty solid place
Now⌠I did have a rather odd-? Issue in the drive through while I was here. A couple of people, Iâm assuming teenagers, walking on foot at that, cut in front of my car, and just started yelling and shouting at each other and someone in the drive through window- Iâm assuming it was just their friend from school and they didnât mean any harm/were only playing around. But guys⌠you genuinely cannot be in a drive through if you donât have a vehicle. Pedestrians just shouldnât be yelling and goofing off in the middle of the drive through lane all the way up to the window. Yâall mfs cannot drive in Texas, and most certainly do not know how to break properly. Thereâs accidents, often fatal here all the time, and that is in no way safe for again, what looked like teenage children...
Read moreBeen wanting to come here for some time. My son's special needs class had a field trip there and they said it went so well.
Took the whole family and it was the perfect setting for the kiddos. Open concept, easy going, simple menu with classics, and a playground...all we needed. There is a sink in the open area so the kids can wash their hands before they eat which was great!
The food was good and they supplied the first real spicy burger I have ordered. I order a jalapeĂąo burger everywhere and this was a good burger. The fry seasoning is good too. The tots are a little bland. The chicken nuggets were good and well seasoned. We didn't order shakes, but they have a big selection. They also have salads and chicken sandwiches.
I do wish the menu was available at the register and not just in line. I felt a lot of pressure to memorize what I wanted and I missed out of the chocolate coffee shake.
There is no mobile pay. There is a drive thru and rewards program which we didn't...
