I recently visited Banh Mi House in Sacramento, a local gem known for its authentic Vietnamese bánh mì. I ordered their #1 Dac Biet, a cold cut combo packed with a variety of meats, including ham, headcheese, and pâté, served on a crisp baguette. The sandwich was a flavor explosion—savory meats balanced perfectly with tangy pickled carrots, daikon, fresh cucumber, cilantro, and a smear of creamy mayo. The bread was toasted just right, with a crunchy exterior and soft interior that held everything together without overpowering the fillings. Its an incredible value for such a generous portion of high-quality ingredients. The service was quick, and the place had a no-frills, authentic vibe that made the experience even better. I also tried the egg rolls at Banh Mi House in Sacramento, and they were a fantastic addition to my meal! These golden beauties were perfectly crispy, even when I took some home and ate them later. The wrapper had that satisfying crunch you crave, giving way to a savory filling packed with well-seasoned pork, veggies, and a hint of spice that tied it all together. At just $1 each, they’re an absolute steal for the quality and portion. If you’re at Banh Mi House for their incredible Dac Biet bánh mì, don’t skip these egg rolls—they’re a crunchy,...

This place offers that convenience along with other items, like banh mi or coffee for $5-$6 a refreshing option in a market where many items exceed $10. They also serve vegan tofu and a variety of fried rice dishes.
What truly stood out, though, was the gentleman who helped me. He was genuinely kind and welcoming, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. I hope more people give this place a try—it’s...

I usually argue quality over quantity and although the sandwiches here are the largest out of them all, they are still very well made and delicious.
Their banh mi include the usual ingredients but also include cucumbers and are a bit heavier-handed with the mayo/pate. I loved how rich it was and the variety of textures from the meat (in my case, the fish patty) and pickled carrots and radish.
(Their shrimp rolls are half the price of Huong Lan’s shrimp rolls so stock up on those here.)
Like any other store in this area- when visiting, bring cash. Or if you use card, plan to spend over $10 (one sandwich...
